Studentesse e studenti a Scienze Politiche: Fuxia Block, la conoscenza del genere”, Inchiesta, n. 160, Dedalo, Bari 2009 (original) (raw)

Fuxia block is a critical project born at the University of Padua, in order to study the deconstruction of symbols, speeches and of bio-political knowledge. Starting from our personal experience, we have tried to formulate the hypothesis that there is a relevant amount of conflicts in our society linked to the bio-political sphere of sexuality, to the government of life and to the reproduction area and these conflicts cannot be regulated inside the male/female frame anymore. In the last two years, under the title of De generibus disputandum est we have held some meetings and conferences in which we have tried to analyze the present debate about civil unions, procreation, abortion, bioethics and violence on women comparing different points of view on the gender matter. In these meetings we have pointed out that there are still difficulties in communication between generations while, on the other hand, we are now assisting to the outcome of new necessities and new forms of relationships within people in society. The goal of our project is to verify our hypothesis, through the -partial- point of view of the movements that are now born in our society around these contradictions.
