Study of the interaction between nitric oxide and carbon monoxide over Co3O4 and CuxCo3-xO4 catalysts using the transient response method (original) (raw)
in the temperature range 403-513 K on Co304 and CuxCo3_x04 catalysts with x = 0.3, 0.54 and 0.94. It was established that in the presence of a stoichiometric NO + CO mixture a secondary interaction of CO with the oxygen from the catalyst surface occurred. The amount of CO interacting with the surface increased considerably for catalysts with x > 0.5. With Cu,C03_~04 catalysts the reduction of the surface lead mainly to acceleration of the NO reduction to N2. The mechanism of NO reduction to N20 at temperatures below 443 K was assumed to be the same for all catalysts, the rate-controlling step changing with the Cu content.
