Haptic Applications for People with Limited Motor Skills (original) (raw)

2020

Abstract

In the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) we often notice references of the concept of assistive technology (AT) for people with disabilities, but usually there is only a brief overview of the subject - there are few suggestions for experiments in HCI articles related to supportive technology. In addition, there is no extensive literature on the dynamics of tactile devices in the operation of supportive machines for use by people with disabilities. This research proposes tests of pre-treatment and post-treatment measurements in order to indicate changes relating to manual dexterity and grip force of people with the use of tactile devices (Haptics) according to the improvement of day-to-day operations of people with disabilities and especially people with motor skill problems and object manipulation.
