Proceedings of the Conference on Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing
2005
The main goal of the conference was to interchange ideas among applied mathematicians in the broadest sense both from and outside academia, as well as experts from other areas who apply different mathematical techniques. During the meeting there were invited and contributed talks and software presentations. Invited presentations were given by active researchers from the fields of approximation theory, numerical methods for differential equations and numerical linear algebra. These proceedings contain research and review papers by invited speakers and selected contributed papers from the fields of applied and numerical mathematics. A particular aim of the conference was to encourage young scientists to present results of their research. Traditionally, the best presentation given by PhD student was rewarded. This year awardee was Luka Grubišǐć (Universitý of Hagen, Hagen, Germany) and we congratulate him for this achievement. It would be hard to organize the conference without generous support of the Croatian Ministry of Science and Technology and we acknowledge it. We are also indebted to the main organizer, Department of Mathematics, University of Zagreb. Motivating beautiful nature should be also mentioned. And, at the end, we are thankful to Drs. Josip Tambača and Ivica Nakǐć for giving this book itś final shape.
2nd International Conference on Mathematics, Computer Science & Engineering (MATHCS 2024) will provide an excellent international forum for sharing knowledge and results in theory, methodology and applications impacts and challenges of Mathematics, Computer Science & Engineering. The conference documents practical and theoretical results which make a fundamental contribution for the development of Mathematics Computer Science & Engineering. The aim of the conference is to provide a platform to the researchers and practitioners from both academia as well as industry to meet and share cutting-edge development in the field. The goal of this Conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to focus on Mathematics and Sciences advancements, and establishing new collaborations in these areas.
Preface: IWR Special Issue on Scientific Computing
Vietnam Journal of Mathematics
This is the first issue of a new annual series of Vietnam Journal of Mathematics, which is named IWR Special Issue on Scientific Computing and is lead by the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR) of the University of Heidelberg. This first issue is dedicated to Prof. Willi Jäger, the founding Director of IWR, on the occasion of his 75th birthday, which he celebrated on August 15, 2015. It includes 14 papers written by authors having close ties to Willi Jäger. Their contributions cover various areas of Mathematics and its Applications, reflecting on one side Willi Jäger's wide ranging scientific interests, and on the other side, the potential of Mathematics as a key methodology for Science and Technology.
