The degradation of moral and the urgency of inculcating both good competencies and strong characters to succeed the 21st-century globally competitive society for the young generation require all teachers including English teachers to incorporate character values into their classroom instructions. However, such inculcation in EFL classrooms seems more complicated than in other subjects since students encounter a cross-cultural interface between English as the language they are learning and their own culture.
