Abstract

Abstract In this study, Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) thermal infrared records were used to estimate the spatial distribution of precipitable water (PW) over the broader area of Greece. PW was derived as a function of AVHRR thermal channels brightness temperature difference (ΔT). The PW–ΔT relationship was calibrated using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) atmospheric product.
