Abstract
In this work, E. coli was used to overexpress the carbazole 1,9a-dioxyganase, the first enzyme of the carbazole degradation pathway in Pseudomonas sp. That enzyme depends on the coexistence of three components containing (2Fe-2S) clusters, CarAa, CarAc e CarAd, and the catalytic site for oxygen activation is a mononuclear iron domain present in CarAa.
