In this study, it is aimed to determine the environmental awareness of primary school students and their attitudes towards the environment. The environmental awareness and attitudes towards the environment of 4th grade primary school students have been examined according to the variables of gender, mother's education level, and father's education level. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of 90 primary school students (54 girls, 36 boys) studying in a public school in the Central Black Sea Region in the 2020-2021 academic year. The necessity of creating proper relations between humans, nature and the environment requires extensive teaching. Children as young as preschool age should be involved. At this age they are very susceptible to the influence of teachers and other people. The current exploratory study examined the effectiveness of a pilot environmental education program, for increasing environmental knowledge and increasing positive environmental perceptions in kindergarten children. The sample of the study is comprised of 104 preschool age children living in Rasht city, Iran. Children were individually interviewed before and after the program to assess changes in their environmental knowledge. Three kindergarten classrooms were randomly assigned to receive the program and three were exposed to story time not related to environmental education. The interview questionnaire was adapted from "The Children's Attitudes toward the Environment Scale-Preschool Version" (CATES-PV). Results revealed that the environmental education program was effective in increasing environmental knowledge and environmental perceptions for boys in the experimental group. These results from the current study can inform educators about how to integrate developmentally and culturally appropriate environmental education at the kindergarten level and encourages future research on early childhood environmental education and developing better, more psychometrically sound measures.
Environmental Knowledge of Primary School Students: Zonguldak (Turkey) Example

The number of environmentally conscious individuals in society can be raised by increasing environmental education quality in primary schools. Starting studies about environment in the childhood years is very important. In this study, the knowledge and skill levels of primary school students in Zonguldak about waste recycling was determined, and the participation levels of theirs into recycling activities was measured. For this aim, the third and fourth grade primary school students were identified as a target group of the study, and a questionnaire assessing the impact of the parents' socioeconomic structures and education status on environmental awareness of theirs was prepared. The results were evaluated to determine the strengths and weaknesses of environmental education of the students, statistically. The questionnaire was conducted in three elementary schools having different social and economic levels. Questions in the first, second and last parts of the questionnaire relate with the demographic characteristics of students families, the environmental awareness of the students, and the participation of students into recycling activities, respectively. The survey reviews were carried out with a statistical program and differences between the schools were determined by using one way ANOVA test.

Environment is widely recognized as a valuable resource by communities worldwide. Environmental protection is viewed as a work that will foster understanding and develop resources for increasing environment sustainability and human knowledge, awareness, and attitudes are important and necessary for the ecosystem's conservation. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of knowledge, awareness and attitudes of the Libyan school students towards environment and Fundamentally, statistical analysis has been used to analyze and evaluate the state of environmental behaviour. This study found that pupils in high secondary schools had a favorable attitude toward the environment. These kids' improved knowledge is linked to their increased sensitivity to environmental problems across a range of scholastic disciplines. Additionally, this research demonstrated that environmental awareness was not only capable of providing students with information but also changing their attitudes toward environmental care. Awareness and attitude form a strong alliance. Changing a student's perspective to one that is more constructive is a tough process that involves a lot of factors. A Comparative Study of Environmental Awareness Among Secondary School Students in Iran and India

The study investigated secondary school students' environmental awareness in India and Iran. Nine hundred and ninety-one students were selected through the stratified random sampling technique from 103 secondary schools of Mysore city (India) and Tehran city (Iran). Subjects consisted of 476 boys and 515 girls. They were assessed using the Environment Awareness Ability Measure (EAAM). Results indicate that there are significant differences between Indian and Iranian students in their level of environmental awareness. Also there are significant differences between them in environmental awareness across and within two groups with regard to their gender. Also type of school management (Government and private) is a factor, which can affect student's environmental awareness in both countries.
Environmental attitude and environmental information level of primary education students
This study was carried out to determine the environmental attitude and environmental information level of students in elementary schools in Akşehir district and to develop applicable suggestions in accordance with the results. This is a cross-sectional research carried out between 31 October and 3 December 2011. In the study that indicated by the participation of 321 students from sixth, seventh and eighth grade attended from four elementary schools, the age average of students was calculated as 13.03±1.19. As a result of statistical analysis, it was noticed that the environmental information grades of students differentiate between 10 and 90, their grade average is 60.64±20.37 and the grade average of environmental attitude scale is 81.65±7.5. 52. 6% of the students are male and it was detected that the environmental information grade and environmental attitude scale grades are not (p>0.05) changed. It was noticed that there was a 0,001 level of significance and a positive relation between the students' grade of environmental information grade, environmental attitude scale (r=0.172, p=0.002) and environmental thought subscale (r=0.366, p=0.000) at the end of the research it was concluded that the students' environmental information and mental condition was inefficient. The information level, attitude and behaviors of individuals that make up the society on environmental problems and influence of these problems on human health are important. It should not be forgotten that increasing the environmental awareness of students will be effective in taking precautions about environmental health, protection and development of community health care in today and the future.

We can perceive environmental education also as an education for a nicer and better life. We know for the latter one that we will have to change it drastically if we want to preserve our planet for future generations. In this article we firstly introduce the concept of environmental education and stress the importance of environmental literacy. Secondly, we present the results of the research that has been carried out on a sample of 56 teachers of the first triad and their 823 pupils. We identify the presence of environmental education in the process of planning annual school action plans, of performing environmental education and the willingness of younger pupils to cohabitate with nature. Finally, our results show that the more the teachers plan their environmental activities, the more they perform them. Environmental and Health Risk Perceptions of Students and Educators

In recent years, governments have shown an increasing concern on potential environmental risk perception of individuals. It is a necessity for “law mak- ers” and governments to have knowledge about the environmental risk per- ceptions of the community. The success in big projects is achieved not only by informing the public, but also by the consideration of the environmental risk perceptions of the public. In this study a survey has been carried out in or- der to determine the environmental risk perceptions of 521 individuals among academicians, high school teachers, post-graduate students and undergraduate students. It is determined that 96.6% of academicians, 97.6% of high school teachers, 89.4% of post-graduate students and 95.1% of undergraduate stu- dents are considering the environmental pollution as the highest risk factor. Among the attendant groups, the educational and technological issues are not considered as risk perception by the academicians and neither the educational, health, life safety and technological issues by teachers. After investigating the results among the groups, some differences were noticed. There is a need for more scientific researches in our country on the envi- ronmental risk perceptions. Thus, this study has been designed as a starting point for setting up an environmental and health risk management education strategy in Turkey.
Perception of Environmental Risk Factors Scale for the primary school students

The purpose of this study was to develop a scale to determine the effect of perception of environmental risk factors on primary school students. The participants of this study were 409 students of both low and high socioeconomic level from 2 primary schools in Gaziantep. Confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis were used for scale development study. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the scale has a structure composed of six subscales and 55 items. Subscales of the scale are; perceptions of in school experience, perceptions of oneself, perceptions of family attitudes, perceptions of family interactions, perceptions of problems within the family, perceptions of the nearest living area. Cronbach Alpha for the scale was found to be .85.
