During the XLII season (2022) of excavations in Zone D at Motya, under the floor levels of the "House of Triton's Horn", Sounding IV reached a pit filled up with archaic ceramic fragments. Here a cut-out bottom of a Greek hydria inscribed on both sides with different scripts and languages was found. The finding spot, the associated ceramics, the ceramological and epigraphic examination of the fragment allowed to hypothesize that it probably belonged to one of the merchants who used to live in that residential part of Motya towards the end of 7 th and the beginning of the 6 th century BC. Other finds from the same stratigraphic context, including an Etruscan amphora, some fragments of bucchero and the Etruscan inscription found in 2017, show the international connections of the local trade élite, suggesting for a certain while a specific Tyrrhenian vocation.

Il saggio intende discutere le implicazioni spaziali delle opere di Carlo Michelstaedter e Gian Giacomo Menon, poeti e filosofi goriziani. Con riferimento a Geocritica e poesia dell'esistenza di Alberto Comparini (2018), e mediante il ricorso alla categoria di afasia come strumento di analisi, lo studio delineerà alcuni tratti fondamentali della geografia poetica della città di Gorizia: il pre e post-esistenzialismo di Michelstaedter e Menon risulterà connesso al citato rapporto intertestuale e al contesto spaziale in cui origina. Sarà inoltre mostrata l'immanenza della geografia giuliana e istriana nelle Poesie di Michelstaedter e in geologia di silenzi di Menon.

The excavations in Motya have returned several lithic anchors, all found in contexts of great importance.They are ancient specimens, used symbolically in sacred constructions and therefore well dated archaeologically. Motya anchor stones offer typological and technological indications, but they also encourage us to investigate the meaning of the dedications to sailors' deities of these symbols of the ships that sailed the Mediterranean and were one of Sebastiano Tusa's great interests. The chronology of the Motyan lithic anchors and the contexts of their discovery offer important related information about the early (prehistoric) premises of the Phoenician city.
