A STUDY OF ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION EFFECTS FROM MOBILE PHONE BASE STATIONS ON HUMAN HEALTH

Nowadays, several electrical appliances such as the radio, television, computer, microwave oven, mobile phone are inevitably involved with events in our lives. All of them commonly generate electromagnetic radiation of different frequencies, especially mobile phones, the fifth basic necessity which has recently become part of our everyday lives. During the last decade, the rate of mobile phone subscription has extensively increased to 6.8 million people in 2012 and tends to further increase to 9.7 million people worldwide by 2017. Therefore, it is required that the number of base stations for signal transmission through radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation be expanded by 1.4 so as to support the increasing consumption needs of the present. Such rise in the number of base stations may make people living nearby concerned about electromagnetic radiation effects on both short-and long-term health problems. In order to explain the previous studies of electromagnetic radiation effects on human body, this research focuses on the effects of electromagnetic radiation on various health aspects, i.e. an increase in body temperature, cancer incidence, and abnormalities at cellula r and DNA levels. All the contents in this paper can enable us to understand the overall picture of study and research methodologies from the past up to the present. This will lead to development of Thailand's research in the future.

Radiation impact from Cell Phones and Towers on Human Health and Environment - A Review

The main key points discussed in the research paper are radiation impact from cell phones and towers electromagnetic waves on human health such as head and brain tumors, other morbidity-related outcomes and summarizes the biological effects of radio frequency (RF) and microwave radiation. The report shows that the evidence available does not provide a clear pattern to support an association between exposure to RF and microwave radiation from mobile phones and direct effects on health. It however cautions that lack of available evidence of detrimental effects on health should not be interpreted as evidence of absence of such effects and recommends a precautionary approach to the use of this communication technology until more scientific evidence becomes available. ; “These days we have Smartphones, Smartcards, Smartboards, Smart everything, but consider this: if technology is getting smarter, does that mean humans are getting dumber (ignore)?”

The development of cell phone technology has caused biological effects on human.The cell phone is an integral part of our everyday life.It is used for multipurpose like a voice call, video call, browsing (Facebook, whatsApp, Viber, twitter, LinkedIn, online shopping etc.), chatting, listening music, meeting games, reading books etc. It implies that the usage of a cell phone is more than 16 hours a day.The purpose of this work is to find out the effects of cell phone on human wellness through this survey from students and docs.The cell phone emits the microwave radiations that are dangerous to different human body functions like the head, male/female organ, heart, eyes, ear damage because the human body holds 70% water.It surveyed from the various staff of medical doctorsof various hospitals and Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur Students.According to thesurvey, the cell phone is more usable device besidesother gadgets and in the result,there are 95%.

Biological Effects of EM Radiations from Mobile Phones

Direct health effects could result following exposure to RF by thermal (heating effects). Recent Studies have shown that there are public fears on effects that can be caused mainly by holding mobile phones close to the body, or as a result of possible non-thermal effects from both phones and base stations. This paper offers an overview on the biological effects of electromagnetic radiation caused by mobile phones. Exposures of individuals to RF radiation from these sources will depend upon their proximity and may be above those from mobile phone base stations, although still well below guidelines. From a review of the scientific literature, it is concluded that there were no established health effects from exposure to the RF fields from mobile phones. However, there are gaps in knowledge requiring further research, but current knowledge suggests that RF exposure to levels below the guidelines were not a risk to health.

IMPACT OF RADIATION FROM WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE ON HUMAN

As the time changes, so the communication mode is also. With the fast growth in technology wireless communication becomes more dominated in comparison to wired communication. But due to this, human living organisms are increasingly exposed to microwave / radio frequency (RF) radiation from wireless commun ication technology including the mobile phones and base stations. So the objective of this paper is to summarise the effects of RF radiation, factors affecting the body exposure and remedies to avoi d harmful effects.

Research review on the biological effect of cell phone radiation on human

The growth in the use of cellular phone has raised the concerns about the possible interaction between the electromagnetic fields (EMF) radiation and the biological effects on human tissues, particularly the brain and the human immune system. These concerns have induced a large volume of research studies. However, most of the previous review studies are concentrated on negative effects and no published work took in consideration all possible effects caused by the use of cell phones. In this paper we aim to provide review of some studies which investigated the possible negative and positive biological effects of cell phone radiation on human tissues. This review will provide answers for public concerns about the risk of using cell phone. Our conclusion shows that long-term exposure to EMF radiation from a cell phone could cause health effects, such as brain cancer. Some positive health effects due to the exposure to the EMF radiation such as improve bone healing and reduce toxic effects of chemotherapy are highlighted. Finally, some studies have also showed no effect due to exposure to EMF. More long-term studies and analysis are much needed

RF radiation from mobile phone towers and their effects on human body

In the present paper, power density of RF radiation have been measured in close proximity (less than 50m) to mobile base station (GSM 900) at the selected locality in Aizawl (23044′53.5″N 92043′29.4″E),, Mizoram, India, which was erected in 2006. Frequency spectrum was analysed at different sites. Questionnaire was conducted on different health problems faced by the inhabitants living near the base station. Different symptoms of RF exposure on human body are thoroughly studied and the result is analysed based on sex. The measured power densities have been compared with standard limits given by various international authorities like International Commission on Non Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), Bioinitiative Report 2012 and with the current National Standards. This study is the first time in the state ever.

A Study on Effect of Mobile Phone Radiation on Human Health

A study was conducted in and around North-East Kolkata, West Bengal, India to find out the effect of Electro-Magnetic Radiation emitted by Global System for Mobile (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) Mobile Phones on blood pressure, heart rate, pulse rate, respiration rate and body temperature on 20 healthy people (10 male and 10 female), age group within 21 to 60 years. In silent and calling mode, rapid and arrhythmic heart rate, rapid and irregular pulse rate were noted in 5% male in the age group of 21–40 years after 30 minutes exposure, when handset placed in ear closure to brain. Same observations were found only in 5% male after 15 minutes exposure and in 5% female &10% male after 30 minutes exposure,when handset placed on chest closure to heart in the age group of 41–60 years.

Hazardous Effects of Mobile Phone Radiation to Human Body

Mobile phone emits radiations that can go through semi human body’s tissues. These radiations are harmful to health and cause damage to human body in some or another way. The discussion about SAR (Specific Absorption Radiation) value declared by FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is also made which lets us know what radiation is transferred from that particular mobile phone. This paper discusses about the RF radiations, ways by which we can reduce exposure and effect for the same.

Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation on Health and Environment

All the transmitting towers, such as AM and FM towers, TV towers, cell towers, etc. emit RF/microwave radiation continuously. Also, Wi-Fi (wireless Internet), wireless computers, cordless phones and their base units, cell phones and all other wireless devices emit microwave radiation. A cell phone that is ON but not in use is also radiating. The purpose of this report is to create awareness amongst people of the possible health hazards which microwave radiation could lead, and the urgency to take necessary precautions to avoid major public health consequences, or else the impact could be worse than Cancer, AIDS, World War, Tsunami, etc.
