Objective: This study was conducted to develop and validate a questionnaire to assess the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on lifestyle-related behaviour related to eating, activity and sleep pattern. Design: Indexed study used a mixed method design. Phase I employed qualitative methods for development of questionnaire including literature review, focus group discussion, expert evaluation and pre-testing. Phase II used quantitative methods for establishing construct validity of the questionnaire via parallel factor analysis. To reduce transmission of the coronavirus, the Brazilian government adopted containment measures to control the virus’ spread, including limitations to the practice of physical activity. It was aimed to analyze the effects of COVID-19 quarantine on physical activity levels, energy expenditure, quality of life, and level of stress in a sample of the Brazilian population. The sample included 426 participants (7 to 80 years). The International Physical Activity Questionnaire, Short form survey-36 (SF-36), and Stress Perception Scale, were used to assess the level of physical activity, quality of life and stress, respectively. The anthropometric data was used to the assessment of body mass index and basal metabolic rate. Body weight increased significantly in all sample (p < 0.05). The COVID-19 pandemic and society’s response to it may have constrained the ability of those with diabetes to achieve a healthy lifestyle. We conducted a longitudinal study to assess the frequency and magnitude of sedentary habits, physical activity, sleep, alcohol consumption, weight, and smoking from July 2020 to February 2021 and compared these levels to those before the pandemic (2017–2019) in 1082 participants of the ELSA-Brasil study with known diabetes. Our results showed that inappropriate sleep duration was common (649, 68.9%) before the pandemic. Many (447, 31.1%) with this problem achieved an adequate sleep duration during the pandemic. Significant increases occurred in time in front of screens (1.3; 95%CI 0.66–2.11 h/day) and time sitting or reclining (1.4, 95%CI 0.8–2.3 h/day). Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has rapidly spread globally, forcing countries to apply lockdowns and strict social distancing measures. The aim of this study was to assess eating habits and lifestyle behaviours among residents of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region during the lockdown. A cross-sectional study among adult residents of the MENA region was conducted using an online questionnaire designed on Google Forms during April 2020. A total of 2970 participants from eighteen countries participated in the present study. During the pandemic, over 30 % reported weight gain, 6·2 % consumed five or more meals per d compared with 2·2 % before the pandemic (P< 0·001) and 48·8 % did not consume fruits on a daily basis. OBJECTIVE To assess changes in daily habits, food choices, and lifestyle of adult Brazilians before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. DESIGN This observational study was carried out with Brazilian adults through an online questionnaire five months after the social distance measures implementation. The McNemar, McNemar-Bowker, and Wilcoxon tests were used to investigate differences before and during the COVID pandemic period, adopting the statistical significance of p <0.05. SETTING Brazil. ABSTRACT: Objective: To analyze changes in the lifestyles of Brazilian adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Cross-sectional study carried out with adolescents who participated in the survey “ConVid Adolescentes – Pesquisa de Comportamentos”. The indicators related to lifestyles before and during the COVID-19 pandemic were evaluated: consumption of healthy and unhealthy foods, physical activity and sedentary behavior, smoking and consumption of alcohol. Prevalence and 95% confidence intervals were calculated for the total population and according to sex and age group. Results: A total of 9,470 adolescents participated in the study. The COVID-19 outbreak was classified as a global epidemic after it emerged in the first quarter of 2020 and the virus spread rapidly after only three months. The quarantines implemented during the COVID-19 period, the deterioration of economic income, and the uncertain situation about the future have affected the changes in physical inactivity, mood changes, sleep quality, lifestyle, and eating habits. Our study aimed to investigate the changes in individuals' mood, sleep quality, lifestyle, and eating habits during the COVID-19 pandemic period. Patients and Methods: COVID-19 phobia scale (C19P-S) and coronavirus anxiety scale (CAS) were used to assess the emotional state of individuals. Pittsburgh sleep quality index was used to assess sleep quality. The data required for the research were collected with an online questionnaire. The study was carried out on individuals over 18 years of age between November 2020 and January 2021. Changes in mood, sleep quality and lifestyle with eating habits of individuals during the COVID-19. The data obtained from the studies were analyzed with appropriate statistical methods using the SPSS 22.0 program. Results: A total of 6,609 individuals between the ages of 18-70 participated in the study, and 69.8% of the participants were female. Sleep quality and the mean score obtained from the C19P-S in female individuals (50.4±10.63) were found to be significantly higher than in male individuals (46.9±9.94) (p<0.001). Sleep quality showed a positive and significant relationship with CAS and C19P-S, respectively (r=0.190, r=224) (p<0.001). Before the COVID-19 period, the individuals consumed the highest rate of fruit (68.8%), tea, herbal teas (48.4%), vegetables (50.8%), and milk and yogurt (48.4%), while after the pandemic the highest rate of industrial packaged bakery products (41.0%), sugar or sweeteners (36.2%), processed meat products (34.7%), and sugar-sweetened soft drinks (30.3%) were consumed. Conclusions: The COVID-19 may cause changes in individuals' mood, sleep quality, lifestyle, and eating habits. This is the first study to evaluate these factors together in the Turkish population. We believe that complications related to COVID-19 may have a negative impact on public health in the long term. In the future, we recommend that governments develop policies to improve public health regarding adequate and balanced nutrition, physical activity, and mood management.

If a score of two or more is considered indicative of overall poor birth outcome in the eight-item tool, a sensitivity of 68.8%, specificity of 70.5%, positive predictive value of 58.1% and negative predictive value of 79.1% were observed.
