We live in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world (Bennett & Lemoine, 2014). More than ever, we need to understand and nurture the creative talent of those who can help meet the innovation challenges that organizations face. The VUCA world also has changed the nature of work (Barley, Bechky, & Milliken, 2017; Noe, Clarke, & Klein, 2014), resulting in the concomitant demand for employees and managers to understand, develop, and apply creative talent. Learning and creativity are complex, multifaceted, and multilevel constructs, and when we examine the conceptual and practical linkages between them, many implications emerge.
