FILM AND TANGO The contribution of Luis César Amadori to the Argentine film industry in the late 1930s (original) (raw)

The Routledge Companion to Global Film Music in the Early Sound Era, 2024

Abstract

I explore the figure of Luis César Amadori to analyze how cinema, revista and tango were configured as spectacle in the first stage of his career as a filmmaker, which was concurrent with the early years of sound. He exemplifies a period of strengthening in the national cinema industry in which, though not fully recognized at the time, he was able to bring together his various fields of experience and allow them to develop.
