First report of the root‐knot nematode Meloidogyne graminicola on shallot (Allium cepa var. aggregatum) in Thailand (original) (raw)
First report of the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne enterolobii on bananas in Brazil, detailing the identification and characterization of the nematode from soil and root samples collected in Minas Gerais. Symptoms of infection, such as gall formation and yellowing leaves, were recorded. Morphological characteristics matched previous descriptions, and pathogenicity tests showed 100% infection rate in inoculated plants. This represents a significant finding for Musa spp. in Brazil, highlighting a need for further research on yield losses due to this nematode.
