Referenciação, metáfora e contexto: uma abordagem interdisciplinar (original) (raw)
2023, Revista da Anpoll
In this text, we indicate some paths for interdisciplinary dialogue between Textual Linguistics, our area of concentration, Cognitive Linguistics, and Social Sciences. To do so, we highlight how the theoretical and epistemological impact of the procedural notion of reference, adopted by Textual Linguistics, enables these interlocutions. To illustrate our argument, we explore the articulation between the notions of referencing, metaphor, and context using data from two distinct social fields: the religious field, based on our studies of neopentecostalism, and the political field, based on our studies of Bolsonarism. In these data, we observe how elements related to the liberal socio-economic field are incorporated into the religious and political fields, enabling a joint attack on the social distancing recommendations proposed by the WHO during the Covid-19 pandemic. Through two samples of analysis, we demonstrate how influential agents in these fields conceptualize these recommendations within a logic of war. In the religious field, they are seen as tactics of Satan. In the political field, they are compared to chemotherapy. In our final considerations, we argue that the dynamic notion of context is essential for an accurate analysis of the meaning effects caused by referential processes, promoting significant advances inside and outside Textual Linguistics.
