Maximálne viacdenné úhrny zrážok na Slovensku

The Department of Meteorology and Climatology at the Comenius University in cooperation with the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute has contributed on the processing of monthly and annual maximums in daily and several-day precipitation totals. The goal of this work was to construct maps of spatial distribution of daily, 2-and 5-day precipitation totals with the exceedance probability p=1% and p=2% (the precipitation totals return period once in a 100-or 50-year period on average, respectively). Such maps should be used in the hydrological or climatological services, as well as in the project named POVAPSYS. In the following contribution we present some results of our analysis: a data overview, methods of elaboration and, in the end, 2 digitalized maps: climatic assurance of daily and 5-day precipitation totals with p=1% in Slovakia.

Porušovanie telesných zvyškov zomrelých vo vel'komoravskom prostredí z územia Slovenska

Prilozi Instituta Za Arheologiju U Zagrebu, 2007

Podľa nich boli popisované zákroky vykonávané u jedincov-revenantov, ktorí mohli po smrti rôznym spôsobom poškodzovať zdravie, úspešnosť v hospodárskej činnosti a ďalšie významné sféry života pozostalých.

Journal of Central European Agriculture, 2013

Horse breeding program is based on an assessment of their exterior, and is largely influenced by the performance. The objective of the work was to analyze the performance characteristics of cold-blooded horses in Slovakia using test of performance characteristics through carriage race. By evaluating the higher forms of utility control we concluded that scores in individual disciplines were very balanced during 2005-2008, which was due to a steady track of the horses involved and the carriagers. By increasing the number of new horses and new competitors in 2009 the average value of scores marked substantial deterioration, but this cannot be seen as degradation of performance of studied horses. By analysis of the factors affecting the score we found out, that gender as the only factor, did not have any significant impact on the studied disciplines of utility control. Carriager and the year of competition were amongst the factors mostly influencing the score. As the most successful line, whose representatives were most frequently and best ranked on the carriage races, we can choose the line of Bayard de Heredia. Its seven representatives participated in the period 2005-2011 altogether for 141-times and their average ranking ranged from 2.2 to 5.4.

The relationship between a recatholicization and epidemic or how the plague interrupted the recatholicization (on the example of the Ung county) Following recatholicization in the late 17th century at the territory of the Ung county was stopped by the uprising of Francis II Rákóczi. The uprising did not have a religious character; the confessional question was more influenced by the following plague epidemic, which peaked in the territory of the county in the years 1709 – 1710. The territory of the county was deserted, and the arrival of new inhabitants did not allow to follow up on the recatholicization activity nor to start it all over again. In the article we map the confessional development of the Ung county with the emphasis on the changes of the confessional structures. Keywords: The Ung county. Recatholicization. Plague epidemic. The uprising of Francis II Rákóczi. Confession

Muzeológia Na Slovensku

Muzeológia a Kultúrne Dedičstvo, 2016

Muzeológia a kultúrne dedičstvo, 2016, 4:1:127-135 Museology in Slovakia This paper examines the history of museology in Slovakia as a scientific discipline in general and a specialized university course of study in particular. We discuss the fundamental characteristics of the discipline, including the development of the current conception of museology as a university course and describe the fundamentals of the course as currently implemented in various institutes of tertiary education in Slovakia. In conclusion, we briefly survey the current state of the field in Slovakia, its potential and its possible future development.

Vybrané environmentálne súvislosti zmien historickej lazníckej krajiny (na príklade obce Hrušov okres Veľký Krtíš)

Geografický časopis, 2018

Selected environmental contexts of changes in the historical landscape with scattered settlement (the example of the village of Hrušov, Veľký Krtíš district) Using the example of the cadastral territory of the Hrušov village, we identified and interpreted changes in the land cover (LC), land diversity (LD) and road network in 1950 and 2010 in relation to the scattered settlement system. The LC and LD changes were identified on three spatially different levels: in the whole cadastral area, in the natural landscape units and in 20 circular areas. Landscape diversity was evaluated by using the Shannon diversity index. The scattered settlements system, by its origin and unique functioning in Slovakia, conditioned some anomalies in LC development which are typical for marginal regions and/or areas with such a type of settlementsdelayed, incomplete or no collectivization of agriculture. On the other hand, the retreat and partial extinction of scattered settlements resulted in changes in LC, whose intensity exceeded the values typical in the wider region.

Sv. Cyril a Metod a ich reflexia v krajine Slovenska

Konštantínove listy/Constantine's Letters, 2020

Methodius and Their Reflection in the Landscape of Slovakia. The formation of the Cyrillo-Methodian tradition in our history has an impact on the cultural landscape. The aim of the paper is a spatial identification of the cult of Sts. Cyril and Methodius as well as the study of its impact on the landscape of Slovakia. The first step is to identify tangible and intangible features, or, more precisely, cultural landscape elements. In Slovakia, we register in connection with Sts. Cyril and Methodius more than 120 sacral objects (churches, chapels, exterior sculptures). These, together with profane objects (schools, medical facilities) and intangible elements (e.g. street names, squares, organized events), are involved in the transformation of cultural, or, more precisely, religious landscape. The largest number of sacral objects arose after 1989, in the process of modern sacralisation of the landscape, which is typical of countries with renewed religious freedom.

Slovenská Armáda a Protižidovské Pogromy Na Okupovanom Území ZSSR V Lete 1941

Historický časopis

The study analyses the reactions of members of the Slovak army stationed on the Eastern Front to the emerging genocide against the Jewish population in the conditions of Nazi occupation during the first weeks of the war. On the basis of the available sources, the author states that under the influence of the propaganda, which accused the Jews of supporting the Bolshevik regime, intense anti-Semitic feelings also resounded among the Slovak soldiers at the front. Many soldiers, including the highest representatives of the army, openly approved of violence against the Jews as an act of just revenge, even when it acquired the character of genocide. In some cases, there was voluntary participation by soldiers in anti-Jewish pogroms carried out by the local population. The author also analyses the official attitude of the leadership of the army to violence against Jews, and describes it as ambivalent. The author also considers the reaction of the Ľudák representatives in Slovakia, who increased their anti-Jewish rhetoric and radicalized their anti-Jewish measures including preparations to deport the Jews to the Nazi extermination camps, in spite of the fact that they knew that genocide was beginning.
