Interspecies hybridization and factors of its formation in the East-European mammalian fauna
Phenomenon of hybridization as a special type of interspecies relationships is considered in relation to mammalians of East-European fauna. Hybridization can be considered either as restoration of panmixia or as violation of isolation depending on the level of evolutionary differentiation of populations. Diversity of hybridization cases could be categorized in six main groups, analyzed separately. It is shown that principal aspect in the concept of hybridization is the presence of «trigger» mechanisms of this process. In case of experimental (incl. stock-raising) hybridization, the key factor is an artificial formation of reproductive pairs. In natural conditions, main factor provoking hybridization is the changing of species geographical ranges. The leading role in case of young species is played by the expansions of allospecies inside geographical ranges of their siblings. Territory of Eastern Europe is a zone of high concentration of cryptic biodiversity, as well as polygon for m...
Implementation of UAV-Based Lidar for High Throughput Phenotyping
IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
High throughput phenotyping is rapidly gaining widespread popularity due to its ability to non-destructively extract plant traits, such as plant height, canopy density, leaf and plant structure, and so on. In this study, we focus on developing a UAV-based LiDAR system to acquire accurate time-series 3D point clouds for monitoring two specific plant traits - plant height and canopy cover - which are integral for enhancing crop genetic improvement to meet the needs of future generations. Furthermore, the obtained estimates are validated by comparing the results with those obtained from wheel-based LiDAR data.

The article deals with the formation of ethnic identity as a distinguishing oneself among other ethnic groups and the formation of certain attitudes towards them. The author outlined some features of people with different ethnic identity based on their attitudes to the representatives of their own and other ethnic groups. The individuals with a neutral ethnic identity were found to be inclined to show no strong emotions and feelings towards both their own and other ethnic communities. They did not clearly manifest their ethnic identity and desire to compare themselves with others. The representatives of this group showed positive attitudes towards other people if their attitudes stemmed from their high self-esteem. The group of the respondents who tended to have a positive self-identity had high levels of tolerance and the combination of positive attitudes towards their own people and people of other nationalities, attaching great importance to marinating the balance in ethnic relations. The respondents inclined towards a negative ethnic identity were shown to have low tolerance placing the interests of their own people above the interests of other nationalities including their complete rejection. They alienated themselves from other ethnic groups and kept up their self-confidence focusing on their own ethnic group.
