La caída de los gigantes. Vulnerabilidad económica del turismo madrileño tras la pandemia

The global increase in tourism in the previous five years was calculated with an average of 5%, which strengthened the forecast of a growth of 4% for this year 2020, in reality, the first quarter of the year had a decrease of 22% product of the COVID- 19 according data from the World Tourism Organization. The fall of the giants of the sector not be stopped and businesses that depend entirely on tourism have closed. The objective of this work is to approximate the investigation of current events in two Spanish tourism destinations: Madrid capital and Alcalá de Henares. The research used a qualitative methodology based on analysis and observation, supported by ethnographic photographs. The actions take to activate the sector from June to august 2020.
