Tourist Services in the Rural Community
PRZEDSIĘBIORCZOŚĆ I ZARZĄDZANIE, 2019
The tourist activity in natural spaces is a stimulus for the local development of communities that have interesting resources for visitors; however the offer of tourist services is necessary to ensure the visitor a pleasant stay. The objective of the study was to identify the tourism services offered by the rural community and the role of the fishing cooperative as well as the factors that promote or limit the offer of services in order to generate innovation proposals for its improvement. The study was qualitative; observation and interviews were used for field work. The results show that the offer of tourist services in the rural community is an alternative economic activity for the inhabitants and members of the fishing cooperative, taking advantage of natural resources and equipment that they possess; complementing fishing as a main activity, however the number of visitors has decreased due to factors such as: tourist service in an empirical form, the lack of tourist training, poor promotion of the community and its attractions and insecurity. Concluding, tourism is an attractive alternative to generate income, however it is recognized that factors such as the lack of professionalization of services and insecurity, limiting the growth of the tourist influx in the area make it necessary to develop innovative actions focused on training, marketing strategies and safety, involving the public authority, employer, academia and inhabitants.
