Among the terminology of the various fields of knowledge, especially the science of applied sciences, the terminology of mechanics constitutes a vocabulary of special research interest. On the one hand this relates to the mechanics itself as a technical base of science with a wide application range within its own goals, while, on the other hand, its integration into many other areas of knowledge, while, on the other hand, with its integration into many other areas of knowledge, starting with the more traditional areas (electricity, construction) as well as with the most modern ones (electronics, computer science, etc.). In addition, the core concepts of all fundamental sciences such as mathematics, geometry, physics and chemistry lie at the base of its theoretical and practical basis. This complex and diverse connection of mechanics, as a science with many fields of knowledge makes its terminology vocabulary widely applicable and as such has attracted and continues to attract the at...
Overview of Basic Terms of Technical Lexis of Mechanics in the Albanian Language
European Journal of Language and Literature
The subject of the study in this paper is the basic terms of the field of mechanics as a broad field, understanding with this concept not only nouns with nominal base, like pair and kinematic pair, but also other units that can be called terms if they are seen from a certain perspective when connected to the system by terms of nouns or when expressing the specifics of the field as kinematics (adj.) - kinematic (adv.) - shifting (v.), in Albanian kinematik-e (mb.) – kinematikisht (ndajf.) – zhvendoset (fol.). As it is well known in the compilation of terminology dictionaries, both criteria apply, although it can be said that there is no definite stance on this problem. By appearing as single word units, on their own, as well as in wider compounded units (word group), these units serve as compound elements of around 70-80% of the whole Mechanics vocabulary, as they are in Albanian and respectively in English: mekanizëm XE "mekanizëm – mechanism, makin XE "makinëë – machine, ...

These connections have an interest to be studied from the side of the conceptual volume of expression, which are put in relationship from the form, for the respective expression of the conceptual volume, from the widest to the narrowest one, from where three forms of terms get distinguished: base terms, which become the object of this study: base terms (zinxhir, mekanizëm/chain, mechanism), foundation term (mainly two worded) (mekanizëm katërhallkësh/four-bar mechanism and peripheral terms (mainly more than twoworded) (mekanizëm katërhallkësh i çernieruar/hinged-four-bar mechanism). This classification directs the studies in the field of the terminological vocabulary of the respective field, in subordination (depending) on the volume of the concept, as well as from the side of the form of expression of the concept, therefore, of the term itself.
Univocality and Accuracy in the Theoretical Mechanics Terminology of Albanian and English Language
2016
The basic terms of mechanics become the object of the work, which, being treated on the level of comparison in both languages, in Albanian Language and English Language, provide an opportunity to better enlighten the terminological problems in the whole field of mechanics. The state and development of the terminology of this field presents with a clearer perspective, precisely by being compared with the terminology of one of the international languages, such as English today, which also serves as a standardization model for the terminology of every knowledge area. Keywords: Univocality, accuracy, mechanics terminology
Among the terminology of different fields of knowledge, particularly of applied sciences, one glossary of special interest for study is that of Mechanics terminology. This relates, on one hand, with mechanics itself as a basic technical science with a wide-range application within its bounds, and, on the other hand, with its integration into many other fields of knowledge, starting with the more traditional ones (electricity, construction), as well as more modern ones (electronics, computing etc). Except this, on the foundation of its theoretical and practical bases stand all the main concepts of basic sciences like mathematics, geometry, physics and chemistry.

In this paper, in a more pronounced way we are exploring with priority the formation process of terms from Albanian common words in technical terminologies (mechanical, electrical, construction). The influence of the scientific-technical language on the general one will be further strengthened in future, because science and its language are beginning to play an increasingly more important role on the development of culture in general. Under the influence of these factors, the terminology lexicon and the general lexicon are getting every step closer, where, an intellectualized lexicon is serving as the basic interlink which exists in both macro-layers. On the other hand, this problem could be linked in a particular way with the formation in the course of the times, of the technical terminology built on the basis of words of the native language, which are raised to the level of terms for the nomination of specialized concepts of this field. Thus, for example, a range of words can be b...

In a terminological word-group (word combination), the combining capacities of both the main (defined) element of the term and its defining element are realized. The characteristic of unambiguity in general is acquired by the term phrase also outside the terminological system, therefore it has precedence over the one-word term, because it acquires the characteristic of unambiguity even outside the system of its field. The motivation of word-group (word combination) terms can also be viewed in terms of the source composition of their elements, as each element may have different degrees of motivation depending on its origin. Thus, for example, a phrase composed of combinations of foreign terms with Albanian ones, may have different degrees of motivation, when it may contain only Albanian or foreign terms. On the other hand, motivation also depends on which constituent element of the phrase is transparent (clearer or more accurate), i.e., the defined or the defining element. Most of the terms are motivational in their conceptual content, which means that each term has a base from which it originates and just in the way the base is developed, so it developed as well it is content. However, one part of terms derive from common words and enter a knowledge field according to the quality of the term, while maintaining the conceptual content, e.g. its content as a word or as a term is more or less the same. Here we are dealing with same concepts that pass from a low conceptual level (as a word) to a higher conceptual level (as a term). Thus, for example, can be considered a number of terms as: derë (door), dritare (window (const.)). It should be noted here that each of them develop further as: dritare (e kompjuterit) (window (of computer)); dritare (fryrjeje) (window (aircontrol)); derë (ndërtese) door (building) and derë (furre) door (oven).
Group word terms in the terminology of the theory of mechanics in Albanian and English
Journal of Education Culture and Society
As it is known, the terminology of any knowledge field as an independent system, as well as the terminology of mechanics consisting of nominating one-word and group word units (among which, particularly the latter phrase terms) make up nearly 70-80% of the overall terminological vocabulary. Looking at it from this point of view, all mono-syllabic (one word) terms (word terms) would also be accepted as a basic vocabulary in the terminology of mechanics. This can be justified more so by the fact that almost every word term serves as the foundation for the construction of numerous group word terms that mark concepts which have spread out into numerous branches. These having been introduced through a variety of many different interrelations, like gender / type, whole / part etc.
Overview of the Appeal and Development of Technical Terminology in the Albanian Areal
2019
The history of appearance and development of technical terminologies in the Albanian area sheds light on the relationships they have entered into with social factors indicating what kinds of factors have prevailed in their appearance and development. Thus, for instance, at the end of the 19th century, a number of knowledge fields were stipulated by political factors, cultural and linguistic factors that are inextricably linked to our nation's efforts to arouse national consciousness through the growth of educational and cultural level of the people. Some sciences, through their fundamental special fields probably would be one of those factors that would accomplish this objective. Other factors were the opening of schools and the drafting of relevant textbooks thereby their accomplishment is to be achieved by means of written language. Therefore the first fundamental knowledge fields were embodied with them, such as mathematics, linguistics, geography. So the conceptual systems o...
Albanian Technical Terminologies as a Special Vocabulary and Its Challenges in the XXI Century
European Journal of Social Science Education and Research
In the conditions of the rapid development of technics and technology in recent years, the cooperation of the scientific-technical language with the standard Albanian language is continuing with a higher intensity than before. We notice a vigor of enrichment in the vocabulary of technical terminology, due to the creation and formation of new fields and subfields of technics, technology, also computing, mechatronics, telemetry, a multitude of concepts many of which, on one hand, are marked with names of the languages they come from, mainly from English, but on the other hand, they meet their needs with the lexical mother tongue composition (by common words being raised to terms) and with the activation of other layers, such as word-combination (word-group) terms. In this paper, in a more pronounced way, we are exploring with priority the formation process of terms from common words in technical terminologies. The influence of the scientific-technical language on the general one will ...
