Abstract

We have proposed the design of a compact microstrip antenna structure having two physically separated ports perpendicular to each other. The antenna has been designed on Defective Ground Structure (DGS) which is capable of providing improved performance. Moreover, we have designed a microstrip-fed line with the slot-added patch. The design and simulation procedure has been conducted using CST STUDIO SUITE as well as several parameters such as Return Loss (RL), Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), and radiation pattern have been analyzed. The simulation result verifies that the proposed antenna offers enhanced performance since the better value has been obtained for the performance parameters. Therefore, the proposed antenna can be used efficiently for various wireless applications.
