A Bibliometric Analysis and Visualisation of Research Trends in Covid Vaccines

COVID19 is a pandemic caused by SARS COV2. A reliable vaccine for COVID19 is still behind the screen. Social distancing and self-hygiene are the major shields against the pandemic. A vaccine for COVID19 is the need of humanity for its survival. Thus this bibliometric analysis of COVID19 vaccines had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in research for COVID vaccines.All open access articles related toCOVID vaccines, published in 2020, from “Scopus” were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. A scientometric analysis of COVID-19 vaccine publications

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that was declared as a pandemic has been the main subject of research all over the world. Especially studies on COVID-19 vaccines has become a hope for everyone. In this study, we aimed to analyse entire literature through Web of Science© Core Collection Database and reveal the current status of COVID-19 vaccine literature. We entered the keywords “COVID-19” and “vaccine” to Web of Science© Core Collection Database on January 20, 2021. Web of Science categories, document types, organizations, funding agencies, authors, journals, countries, languages, study fields, were investigated. A total of 2,765 publications with 24,202 citations times were involved into the study. Majority of the publications were original articles. Current and Future Perspectives on the COVID-19 Vaccine: A Scientometric Review

This study attempted to draw the present and future perspective of the COVID-19 vaccine by identifying the most important scientists and their scientific contexts, trends of research topics, and relationships between different entities. Methods: To achieve this purpose, bibliometric and scientometric techniques were used to analyze 6288 scientific documents contributing to COVID-19 vaccines from the beginning of 2019 to 13 December 2021, indexed in the Web of Science. Results: The United States (US) had the greatest impact by publishing 2104 documents and receiving 32,958 citations. The US and the UK countries had the highest level of scientific collaborations with 192 collaborative studies. The University of Oxford and the Harvard Medical School were the most active institutions, and the University of Oxford and Emory University were the most influential institutions. Pollard AJ and Lambe T had the most publications and the highest citations and h-index. T Lambe, SC Gilbert, M Voysey, and AJ Pollard from the University of Oxford had the highest number of co-authorships. More than 19% of the research was conducted in the field of immunology. The Vaccines journal had the most publications, with 425 articles. The US Department of Health & Human Services granted the most research. In 2019, studies were focused on the topics of COVID-19 virus identification and ways to deal with it; in 2020, studies focused on the topics of COVID-19 and vaccines, whereas in 2021, they focused on the topics of COVID-19 vaccines and their effects, vaccines hesitancy, the role of healthcare workers in COVID-19, as well as discussions about these vaccines in the social media. Conclusions: Recognition of the most important actors (countries, institutes, researchers, and channels for the release of COVID-19 vaccine studies), research trends, and fields of study on the COVID-19 vaccine can be useful for researchers, countries, and policy makers in the field of science and health to make decisions and better understand these vaccines.

Global Research on COVID-19 Disease: A Scientific Assessment of Publications during 2020-21

The study aims to evaluate global research output (103054 records) on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) based on quantitative and qualitative indicators. It presents a bibliometric profile of most influential countries, organizations, authors and journals and their collaborative linkages, besides identifying broad subject areas of research, most significant keywords and highly-cited papers related to COVID-19. During 2020-21, more than 150 countries participated in COVID-19 research, of which top 10 countries accounted for a 82.93% global share. The USA, China and U.K. produced the most articles (25.86%, 10.77% and 10.7% respectively). The top three organizations, namely Harvard Medical School, USA, Huazhong University of S&T, China and Tongji Medical College, China contributed 1755, 1344 and 1267 papers, respectively. The most cited organizations in COVID-19 research are: Peking Union Medical College, China (97.41 CPP), University of Hong Kong (82.17 CPP) and Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, China (59.88 CPP). The top three most productive authors are: V. Wanitlit, E. Mahase and G. Lacobucci (with 152, 135 and 108 papers). The top three most cited authors in terms of citations per paper (CPP) are: Y. Hu (319.82), L. Liu (303.91) and J.F.W. Chan (169.55). The most productive organizations originate from most productive countries and they contribute the most collaborative papers. The top three journals, namely International Journal of Environmental Research, BMJ and PLOS One contributed 961, 854 and 781 papers, respectively. The top three journals in terms of citations per paper (CPP) are New England Journal of Medicine (122.78), The Lancet (106.3) and JAMA (75.17). The most ubiquitous topic was COVID-19 clinical studies, with maximum focus on virological aspects (9.58%), respiratory aspects (6.97%), molecular aspects (3.11%), genetic aspects (3.09%) and immunological aspects (1.3%). The results of this study should be of interest to working scientists, clinicians and policy-makers in improving their understanding of COVID-19 disease and in its management.

COVID-19 Vaccine Global Information Management Through Bibliometrics

Vaccination is nowadays the most used option to stem the covid-19 pandemic. The global impact of the pandemic has triggered an unprecedented frenzy for research axis related to COVID-19 vaccine. Since 2019, the volume of publications related to COVID-19 vaccines has swollen significantly. In this very dynamic context, it can be difficult to quickly access the state and orientations of the researches. Thus, the goal of this paper is to provide a quick, fast comprehensive science mapping of these researches through an information management bibliometric approach. We extracted 8 246 publications (up to July 08th 2021) related to COVID-19 and vaccination from a world-leading publisher-independent global citation database (Scopus). A Bibliometric Analysis of Global COVID-19 Research

Abstract: Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has influenced all continents, prompting extraordinary efforts on worldwide research and publications to alleviate the crisis. Methods: We conducted a bibliometric review using Scopus to assess its impact on global scientific production. We searched for the following terms in titles, abstracts, and keywords to identify relevant literature published until 9th January 2021: 2019 novel coronavirus, 2019-nCoV, SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, coronavirus disease-19, coronavirus disease 2019. Results: Our results retrieved 86,624 documents from 159 countries with the USA, China, and UK being the top three contributors. Overall citation count was 769,811 with documents from China being cited most. In terms of h-index, China, USA, and UK ranked highest respectively. Conclusion: Most publications were associated with developed countries that were hit the earliest and/or hardest. This impact on scientific publications was less pronounced in developing countries like Pakistan, highlighting the immediate need to support and facilitate research on COVID-19 in these countries. Measuring Global Scientific Research On COVID-19: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract The COVID-19, become the critical health issues globally since its outbreak in China in December 2019, since, then the global research has spiked on this topic. The objective of the present study is to know the publications on COVID-19 by conducting a bibliometric analysis using available data on the Scopus database. The Selected documents related to COVID-19 extracted on 26th April 2020 from Scopus. The following analysis parameters used for this study are the pattern of authorship, international collaboration, document types, languages, published sources, affiliations, country-wise contributions, and citations. The present study analysed 3693 publications were available as on 26th April 2020 on Scopus from 116 countries. The highest number documents 51.16% published as articles, and the majority of them (94.40 %) are available in English. China has topped the list with 1053 (28.51%) publications with 5831 citations, while the USA (299) has the highest number of international collaboration. This study also found that Mahase, E. from the UK is the most prolific author with 31 publications, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China topes the affiliation list with 131, while BMJ Clinical Research Ed published the highest (125) articles.
