A Formal Model for Integrated Complex Dynamic Systems (original) (raw)
1998, IFAC Proceedings Volumes
This paper presents a formal model for a class of complex dynamic systems, based on the concept of integration. The hierarchical decentralized framework proposed can be applied to the reliable design of artificial large-scale automation and control systems, like Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) or Building Automation Systems (BAS). The biologically inspired control system, called integron architecture, is supported by the Supervisory Control Theory (SCT), automata theory, net theory and graph theory, including structural and functional aspects.
