Regular Issue, 2020

The world populationsupposed to reach 9.8 billion by 2050 and is difficult of feed such population. So for feeding the entire population the agriculture sector should be embed with IOT and farmers also should adopt this technology [1]. It is essential to increase the productivity of farming and agricultural process with the help of technologies like IoT.IoT can make farming easier by reducing the cost by decreasing the intervention of farmers in this field through automation. This paper aim is to develop a self-autonomous agriculture system works by connecting physical devices and systems to the internet. IoT is a very promising technology to drive the agricultural sector, it is the backbone for sustainable development mainly in developing countriesthat are experiencing rapid population growth like China, India etc, stressed natural resources, agricultural productivity reduction due to climate change. Hence the paper aims at making the agriculture smart using IoT technologies. The projects include a GPS based robot to perform tasks like weeding, spraying, moisture sensing, bird scaring, keeping vigilance, etc. This project requires smart irrigation with smart control and best decision making based on accurate real time data. Thisincludes crop management, waste management, warehouse management, theft control etc. Controlling of all the operations will be through a remote smart device like phone or computer connected to Internet and the operations will be performed by using sensors, Wi-Fi or ZigBee modules, cellular, LoRa,camera and actuators with micro-controller and raspberry pi [2].

Internet Of Things Based Innovative Agriculture Automation Using AGRIBOT

This paper strives to develop a robot capable of performing operations like automatic ploughing, seed dispensing, fertilizing and harvesting. This agribot can be monitored continuously with the mobile camera attached. Smart agriculture is essential for the economic growth which can be done by modernizing the current traditional methods of agriculture by using the latest Internet of Things(IoT) technology. The main component here is the Arduino UNO microcontroller that supervises the entire process. The robot tills the entire field and proceeds to ploughing, then dispenses seeds side by side, sprays fertilizer and at the later stages harvests the same. The mobile camera is used for the live video coverage. The WiFi module updates the message on the server. Farmers today spend a lot of money on various things but this helps them decrease labor and increase yield of crops but the profit and efficiency are very great. Hence automation is the ideal solution to overcome all the shortcomings by creating machines that perform multiple operations and automating it to increase yield on a large scale.

In the growth of mortal civilization, agriculture plays a key role. People are trying giving additional attempt also special approaches to multiply food exhibition because of the increased demand for food. One such initiative is the use of various technologies for agriculture. As IoT sensors are capable of providing agricultural field information and then acting on the basis of freak input, smart farming is an emerging term. The rising necessity of nourishment, in regards with aggregate and excellence, has increased the demand for the agricultural sector to intensify and industrialize. The IoT is a extremely encouraging household of automations having competent in providing numerous solutions for agricultural modernization. In this work, the evolution of a intelligent plantation structure using the trump card of revolutionary mechanization including Arduino Uno, Internet of Things and Wireless Sensor Network is proposed. The feature of this paper is the development of a system is us...

Survey on Intelligent IOT Based System for Agriculture

Agriculture is one of the major parts of a country's economy. But recently, weather change has affected crop growth adversely and farmers are suffering. In such a situation, it is necessary for us to get smarter and be able to use the resources we have intelligently. We propose a method of farming wherein a farmer's job is reduced immensely and resources are used adequately. We aim to develop an IoT based project which will automatically do the work of irrigation on the basis of an FC-28 soil moisture sensor. We will be using machine learning to predict the possibility of a crop getting affected by a disease. This system will also provide suggestions to the farmer on how to prevent these diseases and if at all the crop gets infected, what all can he do to solve this issue. Farmer will also be notified regarding the health of the soil, on the basis of which required fertilizers can be suggested. All the sensor data can be extracted using Raspberry Pi. The farmer can get all the measured data (soil humidity, temperature, pH etc.) on the android application. This app also provides him with the ability to control the irrigation. The main target of this system is to provide farmers with a system which can help him grow a high yield of healthy crops with adequate use of resources.

Farm Automation System with IoT Application

Thesis & Report, BSc (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), BARC University, 2017

Agribusiness is the broadest fiscal portion and accepts a basic part in the general monetary change of a country. The world's population is growing additionally; with that improvement we should make greater sustenance. For the immense number of populace it is extremely hard to guarantee the food. From one perspective to guarantee the sustenance of tremendous populace is troublesome then again it is likewise hard to create sustenance thing for food where less measure of individuals and youthful age is additionally losing their interest on cultivating. The extended age has, as it were, originate from incremental changes in development likewise, economies of scale, however that inclination is going to a level. Standard agribusiness procedures are unsustainable and an adjustment in context is required. The main purpose of our project is to make an advanced agricultural system with the help of IoT application, so that we can easily maintain a farm. We are going to create an automation system which can water the plants of a farm without the help of any human hand. Moreover it will have the options of planting seeds, measuring soil moisture etc. To implement these features, we will work with robotic hand which will be controlled by computer numerical control with the help of Arduino and Raspberry pi. The arm will move with the help of motor and wheels. There will be a metal rail through which the arm can be moved. Two motors will help the arm to move on both X and Y axis and a stepper motor will be used for moving the arm on Z axis. As the arm can move on three dimensional spaces, we can make the arm work with our target purposes. The following implementation procedure of Farm Automation with IoT application, Seeding with the help of seeder with a systematic way, Watering, Temperature measuring, Image processing to identify the soils condition, a big data base, 24 hour automatic monitoring, Collecting and sending data to the users, easy to operate. The main goal of this project is to create a new Agricultural revolution.

The issues faced by the agricultural zones are hampering the growth of these economically developing nations. One technique to solve this problem is to digitize farming and other agricultural activities by replacing the current prediction-based method with smart and analyzed farming. Hence the proffered work aims to automate agriculture using IoT and other wireless technologies. In this paper, an Internet of Things based automatic crop monitoring and watering system, is proposed to modernize agriculture and increasing the yield of the crop. The major benefit of this proposed work is the implementation of precision agriculture with cloud computing, which will control the usage of water and monitor other plant parameters (soil moisture, temperature, humidity and air quality index) thus enhancing the yield of the crops.
