Real-time object detection and selection with the LabVIEW program
International journal of electrical and computer engineering systems
Nowadays, the demand for production is increasing due to the increase in the human population. For this reason, different developing technologies are used to meet the required production. In developing technologies, image processing techniques are used to save manpower and time and to minimize possible errors. In this study, image processing techniques were used to detect and select the colors and shapes of the objects coming over the conveyor belt system. Real-time images were preferred in the study. In the implemented system, the selection process was carried out by using the LabVIEW program to define the colors and shapes of the objects. LabVIEW NI- IMAQdx was used to find the colors of the objects. To facilitate the definition of shapes, the images taken from the Vision Assistant module in the LabVIEW program were converted to HSL format, and shape definitions were made using different algorithms. After these processes were done, the servo motors in the conveyor belt system were...
Detection, localization and recognition of objects using LabVIEW
2015
This paper describes the development of a vision system for detection, localization and recognition of objects. The vision system lists results of detection on a graphical user interface. Visible results of detection in the vision system are represented by coordinates and dimensions of the object. The vision system indicates which object is recognized. This vision system can be used for robot navigation. The vision system is made in the programming tool LabVIEW.
Comparative Study of Image Matching Algorithms
International Journal of …, 2010
Image matching is an important task to be performed for the correspondence problem. The distinction between different matching primitives is probably the most prominent difference between the various matching algorithms. The primitives fall into two broad categories: either windows composed of grey values or features extracted in each image a priori are used in the actual matching step. The resulting algorithm usually called: Area Based Matching (ABM), and Feature Based Matching (FBM) respectively. In this paper, the comparative study of these two algorithms has been done which results with one best optimal method i.e. Feature Based Matching. FBM procedures widely used in pattern recognition and computer vision & fine increasing interest also in photogrammetry.
A Comprehensive Study Of Image Matching Techniques ( IJIFR-V4-E5-037)
Image matching refers to the automatic identification and measurement of corresponding image points that are located on the overlapping area of multiple images. Matching algorithms play an important role in deciding correspondences between two image scenes. The proficiency of an image matching algorithm depends on the region of experimental set up and assumptions considered by the researchers. Several image matching techniques have been studied to address this problem. This study highlights latest methodologies and feature extraction methods used by researchers for image matching.
Application of Image Processing For Development of Automated Inspection System
2013
In manufacturing industry, machine vision is very important nowadays. Computer vision has been developed widely in manufacturing for accurate automated inspection. A model of automated inspection system is presented in this conceptual paper. Image processing is used for inspection of part. It is assumed that the part after going through many previous operations comes to inspection system where the weight of the part as well as geometry made on that part is detected and later decided whether it is to be accepted or rejected with the help of image processing technique. Using MATLAB software a program is developed and pattern or geometry is detected.

By the help of vision system the inspection process of the product is conduct, there is an increment in production rate and decrement in the required labour. This research article is described to design and development of an image processing algorithm using MATLAB® software that can help to reduce the defect detection time and compensate for variation in the product for different production line. The developed algorithm uses image processing tool box and absolute mean deviation in MATLAB® software.
Automation of Visual Inspection Using Image Processing
Industrial Engineering Journal
With current era of the Automobile industry, the product is manually or visually checked by using check list there is difficulty in inspection due to dependence on human skills and lack of ergonomic applications which cause fatigue. Inspection is one of the primary segments of the industrial parts production process. Machine vision is a present day strategy to inspect produced parts and it is a subcategory of engineering machinery, dealing with issues of information technology, optics, mechanics and industrial automation. Machine vision systems are used increasingly to solve problems of industrial inspection. This paper introduces an automatic vision based defect inspection or detection and dimensional measurement. The system identifies defects (Part Miss, Part Location, Welding Defects and grinding defects etc.) which usually occur in an assembly Structure component. The image processing technique used for Defect detection and algorithms developed for defect detection and linear dimension measurement. Various types of sensors were interfaced with the vision hardware and the part handling mechanism, to complete the total automated vision based inspection system. This system is an accurate, repeatable, fast and cheap solution for industries. This image processing technique is finished utilizing MATLAB programming. This work presents a strategy which decreases the manual work.
Determine blood type is essential before administering a blood transfusion, including in emergency situation. Currently, these tests are performed manually by technicians, which can lead to human errors. Various systems have been developed to automate these tests, but none is able to perform the analysis in time for emergency situations. This work aims to develop an automatic system to perform these tests in a short period of time, adapting to emergency situations. To do so, it uses the slide test and image processing techniques using the IMAQ Vision from National Instruments. The image captured after the slide test is processed and detects the occurrence of agglutination. Next the classification algorithm determines the blood type in analysis.
