fIt is understood that Mardin, one of the most important cities in our country for the art of filigree, which has a history of approximately 2500 years in Anatolia, preserves its traditional characteristics with the tools and equipment used in filigree, the masters who created this art and the production stages. With the filigree technique performed in the cities of Mardin, Ankara Beypazarı and Trabzon in Turkey, objects such as jewelry, home accessories and souvenirs that have been used for different purposes for centuries have been produced. Filigree art, which is identified with Mardin on a local, national and universal scale, is seen to be made mainly in Midyat and Artuklu districts today. In this study, silver filigree workshops and masters in the two districts mentioned were discussed. In the study, the masters in Midyat and Artuklu districts were interviewed one-on-one in the workshop environment and their personal information and the products they made were recorded. The masters included in the research expressed their thoughts about the production process of silver filigree, an important art branch of the city, and the future of this art. While some of the masters practice this ancient art in various institutions of the state, some of them carry out both production and marketing in their own private workshops.
