An analysis of adjustment level among higher secondary school students

The present study is proposed to observe the adjustment level problems of school students from urban and rural schools of Bhavnagar district Gujarat. An adjustment is a change in a person's behaviour or thinking. Adjustment is a process by which a living organism maintains a balance between the needs and the surroundings. The variables included for the study of adjustment (social, academic, and emotional) age, gender, class, type of school etc. The study was conducted on a sample of 100 students (50 boys, 50 girls) casually selected from the government and private school from urban and rural area of Bhavnagar district, Gujarat. A standardized questionnaire developed by Prof. A.K.P. Sinha and Prof. R.P. Singh from Patna, Bihar India, was adopted for this study known as Adjustment Inventory for School Students (AISS)-ss English version. The questions were to be answered in 'Yes' or 'No'. The data was analyzed to examine the influence of individual factors on adjustment variables. Adjustment scale by A.K.P, Sinha and R.P. Singh was used for the purpose of data collection. The major findings of the study have shown that adjustment of school children is primarily dependent on the school variables like the class in which they are studying, the medium of instruction present in the school, and the type of management of the school. The measurements of adjustment with school atmosphere, self-motivation, relationship with peers, support of teachers and involvement of parents in adjustment were also studied. Items within measurements were also studied separately to understand the influence of micro-level factors across schools, residential area, grade and gender. Findings revealed that the adjustment with school atmosphere, self-motivation of students to make efforts for academic progress and support of teachers are the most serious extents influencing school adjustment. The results indicate that there is significant difference in adjustment of higher secondary school's students, and female students have good adjustment level when compared to the male students.

A Study of Adjustment Among Boys and Girls of Junior Secondary Level

The adjustment term copes with inner tensions, needs, conflicts, frustration and is simultaneously able to bring coordination between individual inner demands and those imposed by the outer world. For a student this is important for understanding his/her interest, skills, and achievement level and contribution ability in society. That is why the study is considered important to understand students in a better way. For the present study the researcher applied descriptive cum survey method. For present study researcher tooks a sample of 100 students from Nehrugram city of block Raipur of district Dehradun of Uttrakhand by implementing systematic randomization technique of sample and collected data with the help of standardized tools of creativity and adjustment and found that there was no significant difference found between the boys and girls in the level of the creativity of junior secondary government and private schools of urban and rural area.

Effect of Personal Variables of Youths of Rajkot District on Their Adjustment

The study was designed to investigate the impact of certain socio personal variables on the youths‟ Adjustment of Rajkot district. The sample consisted of 240 youths‟ (120 Male/120 Female) selected randomly from Rajkot district. Revised Adjustment Inventory (RAI) of Dr. Pramodkumar was used. Data were analysis by „F‟ test and„t‟ test. Results revealed that there exists a significant difference between the youths‟ gender and their Adjustment. Adjustment Problems Of Adolescence Girls---A Study On Kamrup District ( RURAL ) Of Assam

Adolescence is the most important period of human life. It is considered to be the very special period of human life cycle. It is a period of rapid development which is important for the impact on the total development of human personality. The rapid physical development cause undue worries in both boys and girls. A Study of Adjustment among 12th Standard Students

The study was undertaken to study of Adjustment on Gender and Location among 12th standard students of district Jalna (M.S.). The sample of the study consisted 100 college students .Randomly secreted from Difference College of Jalna District (M.S.). Bell's Adjustment Inventory by Lalit Sharma was used data collection. The data collected was statistically treated by using mean, SD and ANOVA. The findings of the study revealed that Male 12th standard college student's high adjustment than Female 12th standard college students. Urban 12th standard college student's high adjustment than rural 12th standard college students.

Adjustment among High School Students

The present study aimed to know the adjustment among high school students. It also aimed to check adjustment with reference to gender and type of family. High School Adjustment Inventory (HSAI) constructed by A.K.Singh and A. Sen Gupta (2011) was used. The sample constituted total 140 high school students out of which 70 were from boys students (35 Joint Family and 35 Nuclear Family) and 70 from girl students (35 Joint Family and 35 Nuclear Family). The data was collected from Patan City. The data was scored, analyzed as per the manual. "F" test was being calculated. The result showed that (1) There is no significant difference in the mean score of adjustment among the boys and girls high school students, (2) there is a significant difference in the mean score of adjustment among the high school students of joint and Nuclear family. Therefore it could be said that the high school students of the joint family group is having good adjustment than high school students of the nuclear family group and (3) There is a significant difference in the interactive effect of the mean scores of adjustment with regards to the gender and type of family. Therefore it could be said that the boy high school students of the joint family group is having good adjustment than boy high school students of a nuclear family group.

Present study was conducted on 111 higher secondary students of Durg District, to as certain their adjustment. Adjustment scale by A.K.P, Sinha and R.P. Singh was used for the purpose of data collection. The t-test results indicate that there is significant difference in adjustment of higher secondary school's students and Female students have good adjustment level when compared to the male students.

A Comparative Study of the Adjustment among Secondary and Senior Secondary School Students of Almora District

The present investigation compares the adjustment of secondary and senior secondary school Students in Almora district. The present investigation in to find out the Adjustment of Secondary School Students in Relation to their gender boys and girls. The sample consisted of 120 secondary school students out of which 60 where boys and 60 where girls. For this purpose of investigation “Adjustment Inventory” by Dr.R.S.Patel was used. The obtained data were analyzed through ‘t’ test to know the mean difference between secondary school students in relation to their gender. The result shows that there is no significant difference in Home, School and Emotional adjustment of boys and girls secondary school student. But there is significant difference in Social adjustment of boys & girls secondary school students at 0.05 level. It means boys are Social adjustment better than girls
