Efforts to Increase the Students' Level of Confidence in Mathematics Learning Using Numbered Head Together (NHT) Cooperative Learning Model Together

Indonesian Journal of Mathematics Education, 2019

This study aims to improve the students' confidence through the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model in learning mathematics in class VIII D of SMP N 3 Depok. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) using NHT model. The stages in this study consist of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects include 32 students. The data collection techniques used are a test, questionnaires, and observation. The data collection instruments used are written tests to measure the students' cognitive learning outcomes, self-confidence questionnaire, and observation sheets to determine the feasibility of learning using the NHT technique. The data analysis technique uses percentages for the learning outcomes using observation sheets, data analysis of descriptive study completeness describing individual and group students' outcomes, and scoring for self-confidence questionnaire using Likert scale with five criteria intervals. The results of the analysis of this research indicate that mathematics learning increases student confidence by 10.22%. The students' outcomes (cognitive) have decreased, and one of them is the learning material that is more difficult than the cycle I. The basic competence for cycle I is to complete SPLDV (Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel) while for cycle II, the basic competence is to make and complete mathematical models of problems related to SPLDV. The implementation of learning using the NHT learning model has increased from 81.3% in the first cycle to 96.9% in the second one. It can be concluded that the NHT cooperative learning model is proven to improve the students' confidence.

Effectiveness of Use of Cooperative Learning Models of Numbered Head Together (NHT) Type and Type of Think Pair Share (TPS) on Mathematical Learning Outcomes of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta

2017

Learning mathematics in class VII of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta in the 2015/2016 academic year still uses conventional methods that result in students who are less enthusiastic about learning mathematics. The use of inappropriate learning models makes students less familiar with the material explained by the teacher and results in low mathematics learning outcomes. The population in this study were VII grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta which consisted of 3 classes. Samples of 2 classes with a total of 67 students were taken by random sampling technique for the class obtained VII F as the experimental class A and class VII E as the experimental class B. The research instrument was a test of learning outcomes. Data analysis uses party testing and a one-party t-test. Based on the analysis of the first hypothesis test on mathematics learning outcomes with a significant level of 5% and 65 degrees of freedom obtained by tcount= 8.12> ttable = 1,999, it shows that there...

Application Application of model cooperative learning type numbered head together can improve the achievement of learning mathematics materials KPK and FPB students : Application of model cooperative learning type numbered head together can improve the achievement of learning mathematics material...

2020

The problem in this research is how to improve student learning achievement in FPB and KPK materials with the implementation of the NHT model cooperative learning model in grade 4 students of SDN Pangkatrejo II Year 2018/2019? This research was conducted at SDN Pangkatrejo II, where researchers teach. The subjects of the study were grade IV students to 18 students. In this research, planning, learning strategies are determined using peer tutor methods , which are then designed based on the flow of cycles (cycle I, cycle II), each of which uses four stages. Learning with the NHT method on KPK and FPB material has a positive impact in improving student learning achievement, which is characterized by increasing student learning completeness every cycle, namely, cycle I 66.7%to 83.3%in cycle II. The application of the NHT method in KPK and FPB subject matter has a positive influence, which is to improve students' skills in solving problems related to KPK and FPB shown by the increasing number of children who can do problems about KPK and FPB well.

AdMathEduSt: Jurnal Ilmiah Mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika, 2017

This research was done because the results of students' mathematics learning are still relatively low. Students are reluctant to ask about the material they have not understood that the learning outcomes obtained less optimal. This research aims to determine the results of learning mathematics using of cooperative learning model type of NHT (Numbered Heads Together) of student grade VIII at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan Sleman Regency of Even Semester in Academic Year of 2015/2016. This was design is Posttest-Only Control Design. The population in this research were students class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan Sleman Regency. Samples of this research using random sampling techniques derived from class VIII A as an experimental class and VIII C as the control class. The data collection is done with the test method. A testing instrument using a validity test and reliability test. Data were analyzed before using hypothesis testing with a t-test first using analysis prerequisite test including normality test, and homogeneity test. Based on calculations by the significant level = 5% and the degrees of freedom 65, we concluded that: (1) There are differences in learning outcomes of students learning math using cooperative learning model type of NHT with learning using conventional learning model. This is indicated by the results of the first test of the hypothesis that = 2,1899 and = 1,997, so that >. (2) The type of cooperative learning model NHT more effective than the conventional learning model. It is shown on the second hypothesis that the test results = 2,1899 and = 1,669, so > .
