The development of critical thinking from the perspective of a group of selected university professors The study framed under the qualitative perspective uses the case. Study as an approach to explore the conceptions about the development of Critical Thinking of a group of university teachers in Tachira state, Venezuela. An online interview was used as a source of data collection. The software Atlas-Ti 7.5.4 was used for analysing the data. As a result of the analysis, the category Teaching Critical Thinking emerged. For this group of participants Cooperative Learning is one of the most relevant strategies used to teach Critical Thinking as well as teacher mediation as a way to foster this ability. Findings also show that the university still faces a challenge in developing and implementing concrete actions in order to improve the teaching of Critical Thinking to future professionals.
