This study investigated the availability and utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities by Teacher Educators for effective teaching and learning in Nigerian Universities, using descriptive survey research design. The research findings indicated that ICT have great impact on teaching and learning in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Also the introduction of ICT makes learning so interesting for the students. T he findings also revealed that ICT facilities which serve as a major contributor to effective teaching and learning in teacher education programmes were not available. Based on the findings suggestions and recommendations were made. The study recommends among others strategies for its (ICT) maximum utilization; and that ICT facilities should be made available for effective teaching and learning of teacher education programmes.
The Impact of Ict Based Learning in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria
International Journal of Engineering Applied Sciences and Technology, 2019
This study sought to evaluate the impact of ICT based learning in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Participants numbering 60 were randomly selected from three tertiary institutions in Imo State, Nigeria. A wellstructured questionnaire was administered to each respondent. The respondents were asked to respond to a range of options based on their opinion on the item before them in terms of awareness/knowledge necessary for the use of ICT facilities for learning, staff and students' attitude to the use of ICT based learning tools in teaching and learning, ICT facilities and equipment in tertiary institution, and the prospect of ICT based learning. The obtained data was analyzed using simple statistical tool. The findings indicated generally that the majority of the staff and students who participated strongly agreed from their responses on the prospects of ICT that it will impact positively to the growth and development of tertiary education in Nigeria.

The study assessed the impact of ICT on quality education delivery in tertiary institutions in Nigeria using Federal College of Education, Asaba as case Study. Four research questions and two hypotheses were adopted for the study. The study adopted a survey research design. The target population of the study was 379 respondents (lecturers) in the College . Taro Yamene’s formula was used to derive 195 respondents that served as sample of the study. One hundred and twenty 120 copies of the instrument (representing 62%) were retrieved and used for the study. Data were collected from respondents using structured questionnaire and analyzed using frequencies, percentages, mean and standard deviation. Pearson product moment correlation was used to test the hypotheses. The result revealed that most ICT equipment required for teaching and learning in the College were not available in the school. ICT equipment available in the College was rarely utilized by lecturers. However, few ICT equipme...

This study investigated the availability and utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities by Teacher Educators for effective teaching and learning in Nigerian Universities, using descriptive survey research design. The study population consisted of all (128) Teacher Educators from the two public universities in Edo State of Nigeria. Out of 128 Teacher Educators, 100 were selected using random sampling technique. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and chi-square. The findings revealed that ICT facilities which serve as a major contributor to effective teaching and learning in teacher education programmes were not available. The study recommends among others strategies for its (ICT) maximum utilization; and that ICT facilities should be made available for effective teaching and learning of teacher education programmes.

This research was carried out to assess the extent of application of ICT to teaching and learning in Nigerian private universities. Four research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population used as the sample consisted of 8 private universities from the south south geopolitical zone, particularly from Delta and Edo States. A validated questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.96 was used for data collection. The quantitave statistics: frequency counts, percentage and mean were used. The inferential statistic was applied to assess the significance of the hypotheses. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was the technique of estimation and the F- statistic was used to test whether the hypotheses at 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 significance respectively. The results revealed that there is a significant relationship between the use of ICT in teaching and learning in private universities. The results show that the application ...

Survey method was adopted in this work. Usable data were collected from 200 students and lecturers of University of Benin and Benson Idahosa University through randomly administered questionnaires. Data that relates to the research questions were analyzed using frequency count and percentage, while the Null hypothesis was tested using chi square test. The results showed a strong relationship between the use of ICT tools and enhancement in teaching and learning. Recommendations for more investment in ICT based teaching and learning tools, acquisition of ICT skills and the integration of ICT education in school curriculums were proffered.
The Use of ICT in Nigerian Universities: A Study of Kaduna State University, Kaduna.
The information and communication technology revolution is comprehensive through the world and the storm has even caught up with developing countries like Nigeria and Ghana. Information and communication technologies have facilitate easy access to highly valuable and massive amount data that aid the teaching, learning and research activities in an academic background through online learning facilities and other corresponding ICT facilities. The study investigates the use of Information and communication technology in Nigerian universities with specific focus on Kaduna state university. The study tries to know what type of information and communication technology facilities are available in the university, the main outline of usage of information and communication technology and finally conclude to what scope the potential clients are aware of the availability of various Information and communication technology facilities in the university library. A survey was conducted using questionnaire as the research instrument with closed ended questions. The questionnaire was distributed to both learners and instructors in the university. The current study find that only few clients uses information and communication technology often notwithstanding making their academic work easier and more useful. Due to high number of the student population, financial issues and other partialities, the students choose to go to business centres inside the university instead of going to university library for their assignments, researches and other projects. Nevertheless the occurrence of ICT facilities must be acknowledge but the student lack awareness toward the available facilities freely accessible within the university library. Also, the clients acknowledge the encouraging impact of these facilities on teaching, learning and other research activities. The study further recommend that information technologies of the university should be improved to meet the global standard in properties to facilitate capable teaching and learning in an academic background and also as a matter of urgency the university management should create awareness of the general public of the availability of ICT in the university. The university management would companion with private business centres within university premises and give them better and enable environment since they also contribute greatly to the academic environment. There is an essential need for placement of both staffs and students the available, purposes and use Information and communication technologies so that the available facilities will be fully developed and standby generator or new modern solar system should be provided to the university library to avoid power outage.

The Use Of ICT Among Academic Staff: A Survey Of Tertiary Institutions In Bauchi State Nigeria
International Journal of Innovative Information Systems & Technology Research 9(2):41-47, April-June, , 2021
Information and Communication Technology Adoption (ICTA) among academic staff is of paramount importance towards effective service delivery in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). However, the poor ICTA by many academics in the teaching and learning process is of particular concern especially in Nigeria. Against this background the paper examines the influence of organizational (ICT Infrastructure capabilities) and technological (perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use) factors on ICTA. A total of 350 structured 5-point likert scale questionnaires were distributed using stratified sampling for the purpose of data collection. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire was tested using Cronbach's Alpha and factor loading while data was analyzed using multiple regression. The overall model account for 45% of ICTA. The result also revealed that technological factors are the most important driver followed by organizational factors. The research concludes with recommendations, implication and suggestion for future research direction.
