Positive Solutions for Discontinuous Systems via a Multivalued Vector Version of Krasnosel’skiĭ’s Fixed Point Theorem in Cones (original) (raw)
We establish the existence of positive solutions for systems of second–order differential equations with discontinuous nonlinear terms. To this aim, we give a multivalued vector version of Krasnosel’skiĭ’s fixed point theorem in cones which we apply to a regularization of the discontinuous integral operator associated to the differential system. We include several examples to illustrate our theory.

Positive solutions for φ-Laplace equations with discontinuous state-dependent forcing terms
Nonlinear Analysis: Modelling and Control, 2019
This paper concerns the existence, localization and multiplicity of positive solutions for a φ-Laplacian problem with a perturbed term that may have discontinuities in the state variable. First, the initial discontinuous differential equation is replaced by a differential inclusion with an upper semicontinuous term. Next, the existence and localization of a positive solution of the inclusion is obtained via a compression-expansion fixed point theorem for a composition of two multivalued maps, and finally, a suitable control of discontinuities allows to prove that any solution of the inclusion is a solution in the sense of Carathéodory of the initial discontinuous equation. No monotonicity assumptions on the nonlinearity are required.
Fixed-point theorems for discontinuous multivalued operators on ordered spaces with applications
Computers & Mathematics with Applications, 2006
-I n this paper, some fixed-point theorems for discontinuous multivalued operators on ordered spaces are proved. These theorems improve the earlier known fixed-point theorems of [1,2]. The main fixed-point theorems are applied to first-order discontinuous differential inclusions for proving the existence of extremal solutions under certain monotonicity conditions. The monotone minorant method and eigenvalue problem for multivalued operators in cones
Fixed Point Theory, 2018
The main aim of this paper is to obtain a general theorem on existence of continuous branch of solutions of equations which depend on a parameter by using the monotone minorant method in conjunction with the theory of fixed point index. As an application, we apply this theorem to prove the existence of a positive eigen-pair of multivalued homogeneous increasing operators. The simplicity and uniqueness of the eigen-pair are also investigated in this paper.
