CONFIGURATIONS OF THE TRANSITION OF POSTMODERNISM TO POST- POSTMODERNISM: THEORETICAL REVISIONS OF THE CONTEMPORARY BRITISH NOVEL In the paper, the author has analyzed the epistemological transformations in the discourse of the post- postmodern novel, which explains the connection with postmodern, modernistic, romantic, and realistic trends. The system of key parameters (frontier, carnival/mystery, transgression) that determine the philosophical and aesthetic configurations of the post-postmodern British novel has been outlined. The theoretical views of Ukrainian (I. Kropyvko, B. Shalahinov, etc.) and foreign (S. Vlacos, A. Keeble, etc.) scholars in the aspect of presenting a model of philosophical and genre changes that determine the dynamics of the transition from the postmodern to the post-postmodern novel have been discussed. The exploitation of Kantian parameters in the discourse of post-postmodernism, which determines the scope of epistemological issues (knowledge of the world as it is, attention to objects, study of the physical principles without their relations to the subject of the reality, etc.) have been emphasized. The author has stated that the key difference between the postmodern and the post-postmodern novel corresponds with the tendency to abandon the idea of "linguistically presented being" (which establishes the epistemological core of postmodernism) and the epistemological factors that determine the aspirations of the characters (I. McEwan, M. Haddon, D. Mitchell) to find the essence in the processes of the macro -and microworld. Besides, post-postmodern novels represent a vision of ontological reality, which involves a combination of physical (verifiable) and metaphysical (intuitively expressed) parameters. Moreover, the post-postmodern novel develops the traditions of the worldview, represented in particular in the discourse of German Romanticism, which had a significant impact on the European modernism (B. Shalahinov). The study develops previously explained theoretical views on the mystery as a meta-genre pattern and an epistemological factor of the British postmodern novel, which explains the idea of the way, moral and intellectual rebirth, the need to know the essence of things, etc. Key words: post-postmodernism, postmodernism, the contemporary British novel, Kant, ontology, realisms.
