Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki apakah ada atau tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kompetensi menulis antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi blended learning dan mereka yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi konvensional. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Post-test Only Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja dan penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Kelas VIII A8 terpilih sebagai kelas ekperimen dimana strategi blended learning digunakan dan kelas VIII A7 terpilih sebagai kelas kontrol dimana strategi konvensional digunakan. Hasil analis data menunjukan siswa di kelas ekperimen medapatkan hasil yang lebih baik daripada siswa di kelas control. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh hasil statistik deskriptif yang menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen adalah 84.75 sedangkan nilai rata-rata dari kelompok kontrol adalah 76.75. Slain itu, hasil dari uji t-test juga menunjukkan bahwa nilai t ob lebih besar dari t cv tersebut. Nilai t ob =-6.379 sedangkan nilai T cv adalah 1.6736 (α = 0,5). Ini berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan kompetensi menulis yang signifikan antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi blended learning dan mereka yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi konvensional. This research aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant difference on writing competency of the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja. This research was experimental research with Pre-test and Post-test Only Control Group Design and used cluster random sampling technique to determine the samples. There were two classes chosen as samples in this study. The two groups were given treatments to obtain the required data. The experimental group was taught by using Blended Learning Strategy and the control group was taught by using conventional technique. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The mean score of experimental group (81.10) was higher than the mean score of control group (78.83). This research aims to expose about how blended learning transforms into writing class as an assessment. With the changing of technology, the conventional classroom also converts into online class. The students mostly interest on using technology like Moodle , to improve their writing essay. Technically, the teacher also improves in giving materials through online since the facetoface classroom already giving limitation on the time. By using Moodle, the teacher enables assess the students' writing through forum, commentator shown between students as peer assessment, teacher's review, revised the draft, and re-upload the draft.

Writing requires specific skills in brainstorming, organizing, editing, and proofreading. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the use of the blended learning model is effective or not in improving students’ competence in writing for X graders at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bontoala Makassar. This study applies a pre-experimental design using a quantitative approach. In this study, the researcher only took one class using a pre-test and post-test design. The population of this study is the X grade at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bontoala Makassar which consists of 146 students. Then, the sample from this study, namely class X TKJ A, is taken from a purposive sampling technique consisting of 34 students. The final objective of this research is to find out whether or not the use of blended learning model effective in improving students' writing competence at X grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bontoala Makassar.

Moodle is an application that serves to create and conduct internet-based courses/training/education. In this paper, the researchers attempted to find out whether using Moodle is effective to increase student's achievement especially on reading and writing English for multimedia. This research conducted at Politeknik Negri Media Kreatif, especially on Multimedia program. English subject in this campus is not a general English that focuses on grammar, but rather English for specific purposes in which English application should be related to every department, such as English for Multimedia. Quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design was a method implemented to solve the research's problem. Two classes that had 30 students in each class became the sample. Class A of the fourth semester was decided as the experimental group and class B as the control group. Before investigating the effectiveness of Moodle, the researchers created Moodle based learning system. After that, Moodle was used in experimental class as a treatment. researchers collected the data by administrating reading multiple choice test and writing an essay. The reading test consisted 30 multiple choice questions with 5 options both in pre-test and posttest. In computing Independent ttest, founded that sig. (2-tailed) for reading was 0.000 and for writing was also 0.00. Both sig values were less than 0.05, it meant that there was a significant effect of using Moodle in teaching English for Multimedia on students' achievement in Reading. However, Moodle significantly improves writing rather than reading in which the t-test of writing (12.812) was greater than t-test of writing (9.128).

This paper aims to explore the influence of blended learning method on the teaching of English recount text writing and examine students’ perceptions toward the implementation of the method. The design of the study was a mixed-method research designs. The data were collected by using a pre-test, post-test, and an open-ended interview. The quantitative data were analyzed using independent samples t-test, while qualitative data obtained from interviewing students were transcribed, categorized, and interpreted using interactive model analysis. The quantitative data analysis showed there was a significant effect of the blended learning method towards students' English recount text writing with a large effect size (1.03). From the interviews, it was found that the students gave positive responses to the implementation of blended learning methods in teaching writing of recount text. This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a blended learning approach in learning essay writing subject to the students at English Department, Sriwijaya Polytechnics. It expected to answers the question: is a blended learning approach effective in improving students’ essay writings compared to traditional approach? It used a quantitative method both in collecting and presenting the gained data. The data were gained from the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental and control groups of the participants in learning essay writing. The participants were 44 students whom equally grouped into two groups of learning essay writing: an experimental and a control.
