The modern way of life and technology development is often associated with negative factors that result in reduced physical activity, improper diet, and obesity. This is especially true for students who are exposed to a sedentary lifestyle, which in the sensitive period of adolescence has a significant impact on health. The goal of this research is to determine the difference between body mass index and dietary habits of students of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education. The sample of examinees consisted of 41 students of both sexes who attend the third and fourth year of studies at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Leposavić. Body mass index was determined by using the device InBody™ 720, while the questionnaire was used for the assessment of eating habits. The data were processed with the SPSS statistical package 20 by applying the t-test for independent samples and χ² test. No statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) of body mass index nor dietary habits between the groups of students were determined. Also, a positive trend of eating habits was noticed, where the presence of fruits and vegetables in the diet, as well as a regular meal intake, was observed in both groups of students. The presented results indicate that the third and fourth-year students at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education have good eating habits, the influence of which is reflected in the body mass index, which can be interpreted as the result of their sport and academic education and activities.

The hardware-software complex “Diamond AIST-IRGT” was used in the research work to show the model properties of the changes in bioelectrical impedance of student’s body composition after a year training in various kinds of fitness training, compared with students who attend mainly compulsory classes of physical training according to their academic curriculum. The research’s main aims were: to record the percentage of fat component and active cell mass in the body of students, the calculation of the mass index and the hydration level of their body, the phase angle, the characteristics of the basal metabolism and the specific basal metabolism. Contemporary research shows that the process of body metabolism is significantly influenced by weight-lifting fitness than that by aerobic fitness or yoga. It is found out, that the use of fitness technologies during training is more efficient, as compared with traditional training according to the basic academic curriculum. The results of the research showed that the dynamics of the component composition of the body of female students from universities depends on the training load of various kinds of fitness. Relationship Between Physical Activity, Nutrition Habits and Body Composition of University Students

The aim of the present study was to determine the physical activity levels of university students with a pedometer and investigate into the relationship between the physical activity and body composition and energy intake. A total of 1113 female and male university students participated in the present study. Pedometer determining the number of daily step was used to assess physical activity of subjects (Yamax PW610). Body composition was analyzed by bioelectrical impedance method (Tanita BC-418MA). Mean±SD number of daily steps of female and male students were found 8020±3117 steps/day and 8652±3258 steps/day, respectively. Between female and male subjects there was inversely correlation between the number of daily steps and BMI (r = -.115 and -.129), right leg fat percentage (r = -.110 and -.131), left leg fat percentage (r = -.119 and -.103) (p<0.05). Assessment of Body Composition in Physical Education Female Students of University of Niš

This paper is based on the results of the cross-sectional experiment that was implemented in the school year 2015/2016, within the female students of the third year of undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education (FSPE), University of Nis. The study was for the first time realized in this school year, during the mandatory curriculum in Rhythmic gymnastics (6th semester of education, weekly classes 3+3, and 45+45, per semester). Assessment of body composition is realized along with the Pedagogical practice (as pre-exam study requirements). The sample includes 30 PE female students, within the 3rd year of study following the Bologna Declaration. Based on the body composition assessment, the student's results are displayed in the form of histograms, for each measured variable. Comparative analysis of results was used for the consideration of the differences among examined students within the group, considering the calculated Mean values and recorded MIN and MAX results, as well as student profile model score. The results were evaluated based on the system for the assessment of body composition (OMRON BF511) and the interpretation of results for the following variables: body fat percentage, visceral fat, percentage of body muscles, body mass index (MBI), and the basal metabolic rate. The results obtained show the expected intra-group differences in body composition parameters, which are not inherited conditionally, for all of the selected body variables (except BMI). But, although the most of the values are recommended, those low percentages of high body fat (BF), and body mass index (BMI), as well as relative skeletal muscle mass values (M%), indicate the heterogeneity of the student population, their sports orientation, and their level of physical activity.
The physique and body composition of students studying physical education: a preliminary report

Young people who study physical education are a priori regarded as having proper body structure and body composition. This assumption cannot be confirmed in the subject literature. To determine the basic auxological parameters in youth who study physical education. 235 first-year students studying physical education were examined: 32% women (n=74) and 68% men (n=161). The students' body height, weight, waist, and hip circumference were measured. Body composition (bioimpedance method), specifying the body fat percentage (FM%) and fat free mass (FFM%) was also assessed. The mean normalized height of the female body was 0.48±1.07 SDS, and for the male body 0.51±1.04 SDS. The mean normalized weight for women was 0.4±0.94 SDS, and for men it was 0.83±0.9 SDS. The mean fat percentage in the body composition of women and men was, respectively, 21.5±5.06, ranging from 10.16% to 35.06%, and 12.5±3.97, ranging from 4.36% to 22.28%. Investigation of Physical Activity Levels of Eligible Students in Terms of Various Variables

This study aimed to examine the physical activity levels of the eligible students to study at the Faculty of Sports Sciences in the current academic year. A total of 200 students participated in the research as a result of the removal of the erroneous questionnaires from the questionnaires applied to 224 students who were eligible to attend the Faculty of Sports Sciences. The "International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) short form was applied to the participants. While there was no significant difference according to the gender and body mass index variables values of the students who were entitled to study (p>0.05), a significant difference was found according to the sports branches, sports experience, and the departments they attend (p<0.05). As a result, a significant difference was found according to the departments of the students studying at the faculty of sports sciences according to their physical activity levels, sports experience, and the sports branches.

The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of body mass index and physical fitness level of the students. The research method used is descriptive quantitative by using body mass index and physical fitness test. The population in this research is the 116 students of physical education program of Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi force 2017/2018. The sampling technique used is random sampling with a number of 77 students. Data analysis technique using descriptive technique percentage. There are several test instruments used in this study, there are: 1) body mass index measurement, 2) sprint 50 meters, 3) Illinois agility run test, 4) sit up, 5) pull up, 6) vertical jump, 7) sit and reach, 8) push up, 9) eye-hand coordination test and 10) bleep test. Based on the results of the calculation and data analysis it can be concluded that: (1) body mass index test results showed 1 or 1.3% of students who are in the category weightless, 58 or 75.3% of students in the category of normal weight, 10 or 13% students in the category of overweight and 8 or 10.4% of students in the obesity category, (2) physical fitness test results showed that 13.28% in very good category, 15.58% in good category, 23.38% in the medium category, 24.39 in the category of less, and 23.38% in very less category. The Level of Physical Activity of University Students
Many studies paid attention to the worldwide decline in physical activity (PA) and increase the sedentary and obesity. The inactivity at different ages it is a major problem for most countries. The aim of the study is to investigate the level of physical activity of university students. In according with the results will see how active they are and what kind of measure may propose to increase the data obtained. Self administrated International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) were used to investigate how active are the university students. Questionnaires were interpreted as: 1) vigorous activity; 2) moderate activity; 3) walking, and 4) sitting in last seven days. A total of 334 students were participated at this study. Anthropometrics measurements were report as height, weight and body mass index (BMI). Most of students have a normal body weight. Physical activity was reported for all group and by genders. Male students are most active comparative with female students.The findings show reasonable basis for health and active life style among students.
Body composition and physical activity in Italian university students

Background: Increased sedentary lifestyle and prevalence of overweight/obesity are common in western countries. The purposes of this study were (i) to assess the main health-related anthropometric characteristics in a sample of students in relation to sex, amount of physical activity and sport discipline, and (ii) to investigate the accuracy of the Body Mass Index (BMI) and Waist-to-Stature Ratio (WSR) as indicators of body fat percentage (%F) in young adults. Methods: 734 university students, both sexes, participated in the present research. A self-administered questionnaire acquired socio-demographic information (sex, age) and sport participation (hours/week, sport discipline). Anthropometric measurements and grip strength values were acquired according to standardized procedures. Body composition was assessed by means of the skinfold method. Results: Most students had normal BMI, WSR and %F. There were significant statistical differences in all anthropometric traits between the two sexes. One-way ANOVAs within sex showed statistically significant differences in biceps skinfold, waist circumference (WC), WSR, body density (BD), %F and fat mass (FM) among different levels of physical activity in males; and in weight, BMI, arm girths and fat free mass (FFM) in females. One-way ANOVAs within sex showed statistically significant differences in arm girths, grip strength and FFM among different sport disciplines in males, and in height, weight, BMI, WC, relaxed arm girth, grip strength, FM and FFM in females. Despite the significant and positive correlation of BMI and WSR with %F both indices had poor sensitivity. Conclusions: Physical activity plays an important role in body composition parameters: the most active males had the least amount of FM and the most active females had the greatest amount of FFM. BMI and WSR are not accurate indices of adiposity in young adults.
