Firstly, in this study, a summary explanation of the concepts that I have scrutinized for the discussion and conclusion parts have been given in interpreting the statistics. In this context, all approaches to the concept ''poverty'' have been adopted and there have been some explanations regarding human rights. After that, the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that may be related to poverty have been examined, and afterward the statistics of poverty in Turkey have been assessed. Moreover, I have given a further evaluation of poverty in terms of human rights by analysing these indicators. Statistics such as household income, consumer price index, minimum wage have been scoped out, incorporating the statistics analyzed in the light of data from Turkey. A considerable amount of effort has gone into revealing the extent of poverty in Turkey. In addition, I concluded that the public's perception of poverty in Turkey is relative, not absolute. Upon interpreting the statistics, the poverty level in Turkey has been evaluated concerning human rights. Overall, these results indicate that poverty is a condition that violates human rights. The material deprivation rate is an important indicator for the appearance of poverty. When we look at the rate of material deprivation, it is a fact that one out of four people is still in material deprivation, although there has been a decrease in the rate in the last ten years.
