Influence of the temperature on the surface potential decay of polymer films charged negatively by corona discharge under light radiation (original) (raw)

Proceedings of 2014 Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS2014), 2014

Abstract

In this paper, surface potential decay of polyimide film has been experimentally studied after negative corona charge deposition as a function of initial surface potential and different sample temperatures. The experimental tests have been performed under light radiation. The evolution of the surface potential decay with time recorded at sample temperature of about 27°C showed that the faster decay in polyimide samples occurs with higher charging voltage. For high charging level, cross over phenomenon has been observed. The surface potential decay characteristic of corona charged polyimide for different sample temperatures shows that the influence of the sample temperature on the surface potential decay is very significant. The surface potential decay rate increases with the increase of the sample temperature.
