This quantitative and qualitative study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of scientific researchers in the Web of Science (WOS) database during a ten-year period from 2002 to 2011. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted using scientometric methods. Sampling in this study was a census method and for data collection Web of Science databases were used. For articles published in the name of Rafsanjan University of Medical Sciences (RUMS) the database WOS was searched over a ten-year period . SPSS version 16 statistical tests were used for statistical analysis. Results: Total number of scientific papers published in the ten-year period examined in this study was 200. Background and purpose: Seizure is a common condition in neonatal period. In the absence of appropriate diagnosis and treatment, it can be associated with increased mortality and permanent neurological complications. This study was done to evaluate the prevalence, etiologies and risk factors for clinical neonatal seizure. Materials and methods: In a descriptive cross-sectional study, 174 neonates have been studied who were admitted in neonatal ward of Bu-Ali Sina and Imam Khomeini hospitals in Sari with a primary diagnosis of neonatal seizure during March 2011 to March 2013. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics and P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Prevalence of seizure was 12.4% in our study. Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy was the most common etiology of neonatal seizure. The average time of onset in preterm infants was 1 day of life compared with term infants that was 3 days of life (P = 0.28). Mean age of affected neonates was 8 ± 1.2 days. The most common seizures type was colonic focal (38.5%). In comparison with female infants, male infants were more affected by seizure. Seizure in 62% of the patients was controlled with one anticonvulsant medication; others needed more than one drug. Conclusion: This study showed that Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy was the most common cause of neonatal seizure. Prematurity and low birth weight increased the risk of neonatal seizure. Therefore, further studies are recommended to understand the causes and ways to reduce risk factors for neonatal seizures.

Background and aim: Seasonal variations in incidence of diseases can be reason of effect of environmental factors on health. Since the seasonal pattern in preterm birth varies across countries and because of importance of preterm births and unknown causes of it, this study was designed to investigate the frequency of preterm births in different seasons. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study used data of all 5,860 infants born in the Rafsanjan Nik-Nafs hospital in 2011-2012. Inclusion criteria included live birth more than 20 weeks gestational age and birth weight more than 500 grams. Gestational age was determined according to mother's last menstrual period date. The criterion for preterm birth was gestational age less than 37 weeks gestation. Data was collected through delivery records of hospital medical documentary unit. Background and purpose: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2). Rapid spread of the virus around the world shows that identification of transmission routes and preventing environmental contamination, especially in healthcare settings plays a vital role in controlling the disease. In this study, air and surface contamination with SARSCoV-2 were evaluated in different wards of Hajar Hospital in Shahrekord. Materials and methods: In current study, 13 samples of different surfaces and 15 air samples were taken using sterile swabs impregnated with VTM and standard impinger, respectively. Detection of SARS-CoV-2 was performed using RT-PCR. Results: Findings showed that 46.15% of surface samples and 26.66% of air samples were positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA. These contaminations were detected only in areas which were in close contact with COVID-19 patients. Conclusion: This study confirmed the contamination of air and su...
