929Comparison of Echinocandin vs Amphotericin B Based Therapy for Candida Infective Endocarditis: An Observational Cohort Study (original) (raw)

This observational cohort study compares the effectiveness of echinocandin versus amphotericin B based therapy for Candida infective endocarditis (IE) using data from two large, international cohorts. The analysis includes 72 identified cases of definite Candida IE, with 33 cases having detailed antifungal therapy information. Results indicate no significant difference in 42-day or 1-year mortality between the two treatment groups, supporting the recommendation of echinocandin as a viable treatment option despite the limitations of small sample size and observational nature of the study.
