Abstract
O presente trabalho analisa o que poderia ser denominada a oitava vida da agenda publica brasileira, adotando a metafora do texto As Sete Vidas da Agenda Publica Brasileira, do Prof. Marcus Andre Melo, da UFPE. A partir do governo Lula, ocorrem modificacoes no eixo que estrutura e orienta as politicas publicas brasileiras, em especial as politicas sociais. No entanto, as prerrogativas economicas que as acompanham intensificam sua setorializacao e focalizacao. Um destaque especial sera conferido a area da saude publica, representada pelo SUS (Sistema Unico de Saude), considerada a maior politica social em curso no pais. PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE EIGHTH BRAZILIAN PUBLIC SCHEDULE Abstract: This paper intends to examine what might be called the eighth life of the Brazilian public schedule considering the public health´s agenda, adopting the metaphor of the text The Seven Lives of the Brazilian Public Schedule, by Prof. Marcus Andre Melo, UFPE. From Lula´s government on, changes occured in the axis that structures and guides the Brazilian public policies, particularly considering the social policies. However, the economic privileges that accompany his transect were intensified and focused else where. A special emphasis will be given to public health, represented by the Unified Health System / SUS, the largest social policy in course in the country.
