Converter control with help of orthogonal space vectors-novel control strategy and novel topology (original) (raw)

Proceedings of the Power Conversion Conference-Osaka 2002 (Cat. No.02TH8579)

Abstract

The idea and research results of a novel proposal of a voltage source converter control are presented. The basic idea of control and novel resulting in topology are discussed. A particular example of a converter is presented below. The converter consists of a mains inverter supplying the load and a filtering auxiliary inverter. The output voltage space vector of the complex converter is composed of two orthogonal voltage space vectors. As a result the converter is able to generate 18 active output voltage vectors which are almost equal in length. Other properties of the topology based on orthogonal vectors' control are discussed in the paper.
