A Method of Reusing Partial Recipes based on Metadata reflecting a Recipe Structure (original) (raw)
2004
In order to realize associative search for a specific field by the mathematics model of a meaning, it is necessary to establish the retrieval space called metadata space for the specific field. A metadata space was established using a dictionary, a term dictionary, and special knowledge. However, when neither a dictionary nor a term dictionary existed in the target field, it was difficult to establish metadata space. This paper presents a new construction method of a metadata space based on the locality of words in documents. This method enables establishment of a metadata space which measures the relation between words easily without making any dictionary. The words related associative search for documents and mediadata of a specific field is realized by applying the metadata space to the mathematics model of a meaning. This paper shows the experimental results which applied the mathematics model of a meaning to the metadata space established using this method.
Consumer Information Processing in Disposition Decisions of Food Items
Journal of Food System Research, 2016
One of the ways to reduce household food waste is to augment consumersʼ decision-making ability to more accurately judge when to dispose of edible food items. To encourage more efficient disposition decisions, it is necessary to understand the basis of these decisions in everyday life. However, there are few studies of consumer information processing in disposition decisions addressing questions such as how consumers examine food attributes. I provided a framework based on the consumer information processing model and the concept of decision strategies. Using this framework and the think-aloud protocol, I collected data on consumersʼ household disposition behavior and analyzed them. The results highlight four dynamics of disposition decisions. First, people usually examine only a few attributes, and employ simplified decision strategies. Following this, it is not useful to display detailed information on food packages to encourage specific disposition decisions. Second, people tend to keep as many food items as possible, and only when the need for disposal arises, do they justify their decision with new reasons. This means that people feel guilty when they dispose of food items. Third, people often examine expiry labels or storage periods and use these as their primary reference point. Clearly, this type of information plays an important role in disposition decisions. Fourth, people often build upon the expiry date reference by using their knowledge of the properties of each food item. In general, these dynamics suggest that if consumers have better knowledge of a wider range of food items, they can leverage this information to more efficiently judge the optimal disposition timing and necessity.
Rational Fragment-design Method Based on a Thermodynamic Analysis
YAKUGAKU ZASSHI, 2009
Thermodynamic analysis is an eŠective tool in drug design. Thermodynamic parameters of the interaction between a given ligand and its target protein can reveal the character of the ligand. In general, promising drug candidates achieve high a‹nity for a target protein through their contributions of both favorable enthalpy and entropy terms. It is, however, more di‹cult to optimize binding enthalpies than binding entropies in ligand-design; therefore, it is desirable to chooseˆrstly a lead-compound based on its favorable binding enthalpy. In this study, we have explored the utility of this approach using anti-ciguatoxin antibody 10C9 as a model in the screening of a chemical library. We previously showed that 10C9 possesses an extraordinary large antigen-binding pocket that recognizes the antigen ciguatoxin by means of a favorable binding enthalpy. Here, among the many compounds tested, three of them could bind to the antigen-binding pocket of 10C9 with a few kcal/mol of favorable binding enthalpy. In addition, these compounds showed structural analogies with the proper antigen ciguatoxin: a comparison with other compounds which showed no favorable enthalpy change upon testing revealed that 10C9 rigorously identiˆes their cyclic structure and a characteristic hydroxyl group. In summary, this study demonstrates that enthalpy change is an eŠective index for ligand-design studies.
Re-Entry Guidance Using an Energy-State Equation
JOURNAL OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY FOR AERONAUTICAL AND SPACE SCIENCES, 2005
This paper presents a new guidance and control system for a re-entry vehicle. In the conventional drag acceleration control system employed for the present space shuttles, the velocity is an unobservable state variable and the associated pole tends to be unstable. Therefore, in this study, a condition which allows all the states to be observable is introduced using a state-space linearization method. It is also shown that energy and its rate are appropriate for the state variables. A guidance law is analytically derived on the basis of the obtained state equation with respect to the energy by solving a two-point boundary-value problem. Furthermore, a tracking control system is designed to make the position, velocity, and flight path angle of the vehicle track the reference states generated in the guidance system. Finally, numerical simulation is performed to verify the validity of the obtained plant expression, and the effectiveness of the proposed guidance and control system.

Latent relational search is a new search paradigm based on the proportional analogy between two entity pairs. A latent relational search engine is expected to return the entity "Paris" as an answer to the question mark (?) in the query {(Japan, Tokyo), (France, ?)} because the relation between Japan and Tokyo is highly similar to that between France and Paris. We propose a method for extracting entity pairs from a text corpus to build an index for a high speed latent relational search engine. By representing the relation between two entities in an entity pair using lexical patterns, the proposed latent relational search engine can precisely measure the relational similarity between two entity pairs and can therefore accurately rank the result list. We evaluate the system using a Web corpus and compare the performance with an existing relational search engine. The results show that the proposed method achieves high precision and MRR while requiring small query processing time. In particular, the proposed method achieves an MRR of 0.963 and it retrieves correct answer in the Top 1 result for 95% of queries.

Design Methodology for Ubiquitous Content: AMAGATANA as a Case Study
The Journal of the Society for Art and Science, 2010
This paper presents "Design Methodology for Ubiquitous Content" as a methodology for creating various interactive contents especially in an ubiquitous computing environment. This methodology encourages a designer's creation through the design-thinking-based ideation and prototyping with xtel(ubiquitous content platform). In this paper, AMAGATANA is described as a case study of this methodology. AMA-GATANA is a playable umbrella which makes a sound of the sword by swinging.
