Abstract
The tradition of drawing from observation, and its pedagogic role in secondary art and design education in the UK, forms the focus for this exploration of the experiences of a number of individuals identified as ‘dyspraxic’. My interest began with an initial uncertainty regarding the application of particular approaches to teaching observational drawing based on the work of Betty Edwards’ book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain (Edwards, 1982:3).
