This study explores the perspectives of high school athletes on their experiences related to support, communication, negotiation, and the development of life skills within sporting contexts. Through qualitative analysis, it addresses the variability in athletes' experiences influenced by coaching quality, parental involvement, and the broader philosophy of sports organizations. The findings indicate that even in programs lacking systematic life skills training, athletes perceive opportunities for growth, underlining the importance of fostering supportive environments to maximize positive youth development.
