Proteome profiling of the growth phases of Leishmania pifanoi promastigotes in axenic culture reveals differential abundance of immunostimulatory proteins (original) (raw)
Highlights 1. The genome of L. pifanoi has not been sequenced and its molecular and cell biology has been scarcely studied. 2. This is the first insight into the proteome of L. pifanoi. 3. Despite the lack of a genome sequence, we were able to identify constantly and differentially regulated proteins by the 2DE-MALDI-TOF/TOF approach. 4. Certain immunostimulatory proteins previously described are over-expressed in latelogarithmic phase or stationary phase promastigotes of L. pifanoi.
