A Look at the High Front Dome in Synagogue Architecture
Samuel Gruber's Jewish Art and Monuments, 2015
Abstract
Starting with the unusual form of the now-demolished Temple Beth El in New York (Brunner & Tryon, 1891) this blogpost traces the development of the high front dome on synagogues in the late 19th and early 20th century from Torino and Berlin to Chicago and New York and back to Europe.
