Objective: This research investigates the effectiveness of teaching cognitive behavioral techniques on changing attachment styles and increasing mental health and optimism among medical students of Islamic Azad University, Mashhad Branch, Iran. Methods: This quasi-experimental research adopted a pre-test and post-test with a control group. The statistical population included all medical students of Azad University from 2019 to 2020 in Mashhad City, Iran. A total of 13 medical students were selected by the purposeful sampling method. Then, using a random number table, they were placed in two experimental groups and a control group (n=15 in each group). Medical students in the cognitive behavioral therapy group received eleven 70-min sessions of cognitive behavioral therapy over five weeks (two sessions per week). The control group was considered on the waiting list. The attachment style questionnaire, 28-item general health questionnaire, and the life orientation test-revised were used for data collection. The data were analyzed using the independent t-test and the multivariate analysis of variance in the SPSS software, version 25. The significance level was considered to be <0.05. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in the mean scores of attachment styles, mental health, and optimism between the two groups immediately after the intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion: Enhanced secure attachment style, the level of mental health, and optimism increased significantly in the cognitive behavioral therapy group after the intervention. Therefore, it is necessary to take particular measures to regularly hold sessions of cognitive behavioral therapy for medical students with insecure attachment.

Investigating the Relationship between Attachment Styles and Coping Strategies with Students' Life Quality of Jondishapour Medical University of Ahvaz

The current research was done with the aim of investigating the relationship between Attachment Styles and coping strategies with life quality. The statistical population of the current research is all of the students of Jondishapour Medical University of Ahvaz in academic year of 2014-15. A sample with size of 200 was selected using multistage cluster sampling method. The research is correlational descriptive. The instruments of collecting data were: Adults Attachment Scale (RASS), the Coping with Stressful Events Scale-Short Form (CLSS-21), World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF), and a series of demographic questions. The data were analyzed using SPSS-18 and the statistical tests of Pearson correlation, multivariate regression analysis (ENTER). The results showed that 55% of variance of students' life quality can be explained in terms of their attachment style and coping style and it observed that there is a positive correlation between secure attachment style and problem-oriented coping style with life quality in students and there are negative correlations among other attachment styles (avoidance and ambivalent) and coping styles (emotion-oriented and avoidant-oriented) with life quality of students.

The investigation of the relationship between secure attachment style, self-efficacy, optimism and life satisfaction among the students of Ahvaz Islamic Azad University

The aim of this research was to study the relationship between secure attachment style, self-efficacy, optimism and life satisfaction among the students of Ahvaz Islamic Azad University. The study sample has included 300 students studying at the Islamic Azad University of Ahwaz in the 2014-15 academic years. The research method was correlational. The data collection tools included Hazan and Shaver attachment styles questionnaire, the self-efficacy questionnaire of Sherur et al, the optimism questionnaire of Peterson et al and the life satisfaction questionnaire of Diner. The relationship between attachment styles with depression in students

The objective of this research was to investigate the relationship between attachment styles with depression among high school students. The research society included all male and female students in different majors from Aleshtar medical Science University during the academic year of 2010-2011.The sample volume involved 296subjects which was selected using simple random Sampling method. The measurement tools were adult Attachment scale and Beck-depression test, the research method was correlative that is in the context of practical research. Also, to analyze data result from Collins-Read, and Beck questionnaires, the Pearson correlation coefficient and multi variant Regression was used. Findings showed that there is a significant negative relationship between secure attachment styles with depression in students. And also there is a significant positive relationship between insecure attachment (avoidance) styles and insecure (Anxious- ambivalence) with depression in students.

Relationship Between Secure and Insecure Attachment Style with Physician Empathy Among Medical Students: A Cross-sectional Study in Iran

The effectiveness of attachment-based group training on the non-clinical sample of students with psychological well-being

Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial, through convenient sampling, 16 girl students of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in the academic year of 2012-2013 with preoccupied attachment style were selected and randomly allocated to two groups. The Relationship Scales Questionnaire (RSQ) and the Ryff Scales of Psychological Well-Being (RSPWB) short formwere used in this study. The experimental group received 7 sessions of 90-minute attachment-based group training while the control group was on the waiting list. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and multivariate analysis of covariance by SPSS software version 19. The Mediating Role of Emotional Regulation in the Relationship between Attachment Styles and Psychological Well-being

Background: People with a high sense of psychological well-being mainly experience more positive emotions and have a positive evaluation of the incidents and events around them. Psychological well-being includes life satisfaction, emotional balance and general attitude towards optimism with a positive orientation towards life, so people's attachment style can play an effective role in promoting psychological well-being. Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the mediating role of emotional regulation in the relationship between attachment styles and psychological well-being. Materials & Methods: A total of 250 couples (125 male and 125 female) referred to Taranom Life Counseling Center and Atiyeh Counseling Center located in the 2nd district of Qazvin city were selected using convenience sampling method in the first quarter of 2022. The participants completed the psychological well-being scale, adult attachment styles, and emotional regulation questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM) in AMOS software. Results: The results of this research showed that 79% of the variance of psychological well-being was explained by predictor variables. Secure attachment style has a significant positive correlation with psychological well-being. Anxious and avoidant attachment styles have a significant negative correlation with psychological well-being. The results of SEM showed that emotional regulation has a significant indirect effect (mediating role) on the relationship between attachment styles and psychological well-being. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that the emotional regulation plays a mediating role in the relationship between attachment styles and psychological well-being. It is suggested to strengthen the psychological well-being of couples by identifying attachment styles of couples and raising awareness in the field of emotional regulation.
