Emotional intelligence (EI) is being aware of one's own ability to understand and manage the emotions. In today's modern world organizations need the employees who maintain and controlling of situations and with good decision making. The present research study is based on the key variable of EI such as self awareness, social awareness, stress management, organizational commitment, conflict handling, job satisfaction and their effects on demographic factors. A survey has been conducted by selecting random sa mpling technique in Mysuru, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. A total of 65 respondents have been considered out of 100 for analyzing of the data. The method of the study is pilot study. The hypothesis framed for this study is whether there is significant difference between demographic factors and factors affecting the EI. The results have been analyzed through statistical tools t-test and ANNOVA.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AS A PREDICTOR OF JOB PERFORMANCE AND SATISFACTION IN IT/ITES SECTOR OF INDIA

Emotional intelligence is considered as the inherent ability of an individual by means of which he is able to understand and interpret his emotions as well as that of others. This in-depth understanding of the various emotional processes further assist individuals in coping with challenges, making accurate self-assessment and handling stress more efficiently. Research works on job performance and productivity of employees and their job satisfaction suggest that emotional intelligence acts as a modulator for both these elements. However, in the IT sector, the congenial ambience along with various sorts of compensations and employee recognition schemes make them highly productive and immensely satisfied. This paper explores the role of emotional intelligence in predicting an employee’s job satisfaction and job performance in the IT/ITES sector in India.

Emotional Intelligence and its impact on Organizational Performance of IT Companies in India with special reference to Hyderabad

The Emotionally Intelligent people would always regulate their own emotions, definitely understand and manage the emotions of others in an appropriate manner. At the workplace, the managerial level people have to deal with the employees to get the work done as well as to do the work. Now-a-days, most of the organizations have been recognizing the influence and importance of Emotional Intelligence on the performance of employees. This research study has been conducted to support the influence and importance of the Emotional Intelligence. Thus, in this research study, an attempt has been made to find out the EI level of managerial level people and the influence of EI on the performance of employees. A sample of 500 managerial level people in the IT industry based on a structured questionnaire were used to collect the data and analyze for drawing conclusions. The statistical analysis revealed that there was a positive relationship between the EI and the Job Performance. It is found that understanding the Emotional Intelligence level of employees would help to achieve the desired outcome and provide suitable training to the managers and employees in order to regulate their emotions for helping them to achieve the objectives of an organization efficiently and effectively.

Emotional Intelligence -A Reason for Rise in Indian Innovation Performance

Nations that score high on happiness are also high on creativity and innovation. Incidentally, these countries also belong to high income categories. India is low on happiness (139th out of 149 countries), low on income yet has recently made it into the top fifty countries on innovation. Research is consistent on the positive correlation of happiness with the ability to be creative. The Indian paradox (of low happiness score and high innovation) could be due to the emotional intelligence that is strong in the Indian culture and is necessary to persist in the realm of innovation. The synthesis of scientific findings on happiness, creativity, innovation and emotional intelligence reveals connections on the reasons why happiness and emotional intelligence together contribute to the increase in creative and innovative output of a nation.

Impact of Emotional Intelligence on the Job Performance of the Employees of IT Sectors in Chennai City

This article intends at study the impact of emotional intelligence on the job performance of the individuals from a theoretical perspective. In particular, it focuses on the bondage between the nature of emotional intelligence and the job performance. Here two variables are taken for this study: emotional intelligence and job performance. This exploration helps managers and researchers to better realize the link between these two variables. It can also support the organization practitioners to have a better understanding of the relationship between the above mentioned factors. The research examines the impact of Emotional Intelligence on the Job Performance of employees in IT sectors with reference to Chennai City. Two separate questionnaire (one for EI and another for JP) were used with sample size as 100 employees. Convenience and random sampling technique were used to collect data from the employees.
