Several challenges are faced in implementing online learning, such as being less familiar with online learning. This study aimed to analyze the challenges faced by students majoring in Non-English Education in online English learning during the Covid 19 pandemic. The research design used was descriptive and qualitative. Data were obtained from 412 students majoring in Non-English Education. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire was made in a google form and filled out by respondents online, while the structured interview technique was carried out using the Zoom application. Data analysis activities include data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The article analyzes the challenges posed by rapid shifting from face-to-face to online teaching/learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Along with other educational institutions Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences had to switch to online teaching/ learning. After a year of new experience, a cross-sectional study was conducted to establish students' and teachers' perceptions of online learning and highlight areas for improvement. Two surveys were conducted: a student survey (N=39) and a teacher survey (N=13). The findings revealed that the vast majority of the respondents in both groups feel fully or partially satisfied with online teaching/learning and academic achievements. Of the two main tools engaged in online teaching/learning preference is given to Microsoft Teams, leaving the Moodle platform slightly behind. The authors conclude that despite overall positive feedback some improvements are necessary to raise the quality of online teaching/learning. Further research would help to monitor the development of the situation.
Students' Perception Toward The Online English Learning Process During Covid-19

Online English learning process, besides providing conveniences, there are also obstacles, this gives rise to various student perceptions. The Purposes of the research are to explore the student perception towards the online English learning process and to provide information about the factor influencing those perception during covid-19 at SMA N 7 Banda Aceh. The research design uses quantitative descriptive. The respondent of the research are students of SMA N 7 Banda Aceh from class X to class XII, while the sample of the research is taken from Class X IPAS 4 there are 21 respondent, class XI IPA 2 there are 27 respondent and class XII IPA 3 there are 20 respondents. The Covid-19 pandemic currently occurring has changed conventional classrooms to online classrooms. This current study is a descriptive quantitative study consisting of an analysis of a survey on secondary school student's perceptions of their English online learning during the pandemic. One hundred seventy-three students of Tazkia IIBS Malang were involved in this study. The data were in the form of students’ perceptions of online learning in terms of accessibility, E-Learning Platform, material delivery, assignments delivery, and participation. The result was then summarized into tables, charts, and narrative descriptions. The study discovers two significant challenges faced by students in the English online class. They are teachers’ material/instructions delivery and the assignments’ time deadline. In terms of material and assignment delivery, the study suggests teachers employ interactive and engaging E-Learning platforms to participate more actively and enthusiastically, especially for secondary school students who haven’t been accustomed to virtual learning.
STUDENTS' PERSPECTIVES OF ONLINE LANGUAGE LEARNING DURING CORONA PANDEMIC: BENEFITS AND CHALLENGES

This study aimed to elicit students' perspectives towards benefits and challenges of fully online classes at Hebron University. The researchers examined both advantages and challenges of online classes from students' point of view. Also, they explored some suggestions for improving online classes which could play an important role in improving the online learning and teaching process. The researchers employed quantitative research methods. They distributed a questionnaire to collect data. Eighty two students from two different English intensive courses were asked to fill a 5 point Likert scale questionnaire and answer four open-ended questions. The researchers used the surveyplanet app to facilitate the process of distributing and collecting data. The finding of this study showed that students faced some challenges with online learning; they preferred face to face classes. The disadvantages of online classes from their perspectives are more than the advantages. The weak internet connectivity, poor interaction, less motivation, less participation and less understanding are the most challenges of online learning. However, they find online classes easy to access, convenient and easy to be reviewed for exams.

This quantitative study deals with the tertiary level learners' perceptions of learning English through online classroom in Bangladesh. The purpose of this study is to determine tertiary level learners' perception towards learning English through online classroom. During these Corona pandemic days, the young under graduate learners are participating in online classes using different virtual platforms. While carrying out their academic courses they need to capture the content in English that is the preferred language of instruction used by the teachers. So, in this new teaching environment how far they can learn the English language is a question. To determine their perception a questionnaire on Google form consisting of 11 questions using the 5-Point Likert Scale was maintained to get the data and was employed on 71 undergraduate students from a public university situated in the sub urban area of Bangladesh. The findings of the research expressed the learners' mixed perceptions regarding various statements of the questionnaire. For example: learners preferred the teachers' use of both Bangla and English in the class, teachers' use of images and videos in the class to better understand the English language. Again, learners possessed negative approach towards developing speaking, reading and writing skills through online class, though they were highly positive in achieving the listening skill. This paper possesses good research significance since the findings will be pedagogically imperative to creating a favourable online classroom during the Corona Pandemic.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused schools and universities to close so that online learning is one of the solutions to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of learning English online during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The subjects analyzed consisted of two different department groups at University of Prof. Dr. Hazairin, S.H in the 2019/2020 academic year. The number of respondents was 66 participants. Problems in teaching and learning English online during the Covid-19 pandemic

The Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic has spread rapidly worldwide and influenced almost all sectors, including the education sector. The policy to study from home during the Covid-19 outbreak has caused a new problem in the teaching and learning. The objective of the research was to find out the problems faced by the English teachers in teaching English online during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was approached qualitatively, and subjects are three English teachers teaching at one of senior high schools in Aceh, Indonesia. The data was gathered through observation and interviews with the three English teachers. The results show that some of the problems emerged during online learning, i.e. internet access, lack of familiarity with technology, difficulty in explaining the materials, problems in controlling and managing students' activities, indiscipline students, time-consuming process, low students' motivation, students absence in online class, and lack of parent support. The findings also show that there were two solutions to overcome the problems adopted by teachers, namely, using online chat with WhatsApp and keeping in touch with the students' parents to support the student activities and explain the lesson plans for online learning process.
