Attracting a Field of Candidates, Application Forms, and Handling the Response (original) (raw)

Abstract
The previous chapters on job descriptions, criteria and personnel specifications have dealt with the preparation which is undertaken before a vacancy arises. The more thoroughly this preparation is undertaken, the easier it is to deal with events when the vacancy actually arises — when an employee hands in their resignation or an expansion plan is agreed and extra employees need to be recruited. There is very little ‘theory’ involved at this point. Practical administrative experience is the greatest requirement.
