Channel Equalization and Bandwidth Tuning Using a LC-Based Tunable Hybrid Birefringent Filter

We propose and demonstrate a new modified Lyot filter to independently ensure the channel amplitude equalization and the bandwidth tuning functions. The device consists of hybrid liquid crystal interferometers.
